  • An Heiress to Remember

An Heiress to Remember by Maya Rodale

An Heiress to Remember by Maya Rodale is $3.99! Elyse read this one and gave it a B:

So while it took me awhile to get into An Heiress to Remember, once the hero stopped being a door knob and got over himself, I found the romance compelling. Added to that great details about 19th century department stores as a feminist innovation and some solid femaile friendships, and I had a ton of fun.

    Can a scandalized heiress…

Beatrice Goodwin left Manhattan a duchess and has returned a divorcée, ready to seize control of her fate and the family business. Goodwin’s Department Store, once the pinnacle of fashion, has fallen from favor thanks to Dalton’s, its glamorous competitor across the street. But this rivalry has a distinctly personal edge…

    And a self-made tycoon…

For Wes Dalton, Beatrice has always been the one—the one who broke his young heart by marrying a duke, and now, the one whose cherished store he plans to buy, just so he can destroy it. It’s the perfect revenge against a family who believed he’d never be good enough for their daughter—until Beatrice’s return complicates everything…

Find happily ever after at last?

While Goodwin’s and Dalton’s duel to be the finest store in Gilded Age Manhattan, Beatrice and Wes succumb to a desire that has only deepened with time. Adversaries by day, lovers by night, both will soon have to decide which is sweeter: winning the battle or thoroughly losing their hearts…

  • Engaged to the Earl

Engaged to the Earl by Lisa Berne

Engaged to the Earl by Lisa Berne is $2.99! This historical romance is the fourth book in the Penhallow Dynasty series. Now, the book description says the heroine is already betrothed and seems to like her future husband. Not sure about any cheating elements in the book, which I know is a big off button for some readers.

A spirited debutante—a brash adventurer—the perfect fiancé—and good intentions gone terribly, deliciously bad. The Penhallow Dynasty continues in this sparkling Regency romp!

Christopher Beck came striding into a glamorous London drawing-room and can’t believe his eyes. The last time he’d seen Gwendolyn Penhallow, she was a dreamy, strong-willed girl with a wild imagination, and now she’s a beautiful and beguiling young lady… who’s engaged to Society’s darling, the Earl of Westenbury. Christopher had fled England to seek adventure elsewhere. Has he found it here, too—the most delightful adventure of his life?

Gwendolyn is sure she’s betrothed to the most wonderful man in the world. But then, shockingly, Christopher Beck shows up. Nobody has heard from him in years—and not only he is very much alive, he’s also sinfully attractive, blithely unconventional, and disturbingly fun to be with. Which wouldn’t be a problem, except for the fact that she’s, well, promised to another. And just what on earth is she going to do about it?

  • Crashed Out

    Crashed Out by Tessa Bailey

Crashed Out by Tessa Bailey is $2.99! This is the first book in the Made in Jersey series. Book two is also on sale and book three features a plus-size, husky hero. This one seems to reverse some common tropes, with the hero being the younger brother of the heroine’s best friend. The heroine is a blue collar worker and seven years older than the hero.

Jasmine Taveras is the reason Sarge Purcell grabbed his six-string and bailed the hell out of New Jersey four years ago. She’s the fuel for every song he’s ever written-each one laced with bitter, hard-edged, hungry lust. Now, with his hugely successful band on temporary hiatus, Sarge is determined to prove to Jasmine that this “kid” turned into every inch the man she’s always needed…

Men are slim pickings for a single factory girl in Hook, New Jersey…until tall, broad-shouldered hotness walks-or rather storms-into Jasmine’s life. Sarge’s return shouldn’t affect her this way. He’s her best friend’s much younger kid brother, and the kind of rough, gritty, sexiness Jasmine has no right to taste for herself. Even if he lets her.

But lust is a blinding, insatiable force. And when it crashes, it will take both Sarge and Jasmine down with it…

  • Forget Tomorrow

    Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn

Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn is 99c at select vendors! This was Dunn’s debut and it’s YA with a fantasy plotline set in (I think) a modern world. Since this book’s release, Dunn has gone one to come out with some awesome books outside this series. Overall, some felt the pacing was slow, but the plot was unique. It’s also young adult with a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.

Imagine a world where your destiny has already been decided…by your future self.

It’s Callie’s seventeenth birthday and, like everyone else, she’s eagerly awaiting her vision—a memory sent back in time to sculpt each citizen into the person they’re meant to be. A world-class swimmer. A renowned scientist.

Or in Callie’s case, a criminal.

In her vision, she sees herself murdering her gifted younger sister. Before she can process what it means, Callie is arrested and placed in prison. The only person who can help is her childhood crush, Logan, a boy she hasn’t spoken to in five years.

Logan breaks her free, but can she trust him? He’s almost the same boy she remembers, but now he’s a whole lot hotter. And he’s got his own past to deal with. Callie’s falling for him, fast, but she soon learns he has secrets of his own. Secrets that mean they can never be together.

Now, Callie’s on the run not only from the government, but also from her fate. If she wants any hope of a future with Logan, she must first find a way to protect her sister from the biggest threat of all—herself.

Crashed Out: Gotta read it as I grew up in Princeton, NJ.

Forget Tomorrow: Um, hate to tell you but this is $5.99, not 99 cents.

  2. I can’t not see that the torso of the woman on the cover of An Heiress to Remember is facing 90 degrees away from the direction her skirt is facing…

  3. Pat says:

@Gloriamarie Amalfitano: It’s weird, it you follow this link Forget Tomorrow comes up at $5.99 but if you do a search on Amazon then the book comes up at $.99. I only paid $.99.

  4. Leigh Kramer says:

An Heiress to Remember just came out March 31! I’m getting a very strong message that publishers don’t care if we preorder anymore, especially if they’re going to put the third book in a series on sale so quickly after release.

  5. Gloriamarie Amalfitano says:

@Pat, thank you!! Never thought to try that.

  6. Lisa F says:

    The Rodale is great!

Berne has been um. Tragically not the most compatible for me, author-wise.
