You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!
This HaBO is from Antoniya, who is looking for this contemporary romance:
I was in the hospital and I was reading non-stop. A couple of years later I have forgotten almost everything except this book:
The heroine is the creator and the main writer of a popular soap opera. She lives with her boyfriend who is the leading actor in the soap opera. They are from a small town. They met on the school bus. Her father owns a bar (or was it a bowling alley?).
A famous actor joins the soap opera cast — his character is written as a villain.
Her boyfriend acts erratically. He wants to go to Hollywood. He marries a young starlet while still technically living with the heroine. There was some drama with stolen manuscripts, etc.
The heroine gets together with the new cast member who is smart, understanding, and wants to work in TV.
I thought the book was by Susan Elizabeth Phillips but alas, I was wrong. I do believe the author is quite famous. Help? I really want to reread the book 🙂 Thank you in advance.
The boyfriend sounds like a dumpster fire.
That’s ‘Again’ by Kathleen Gilles Seidel. I have it, I love it! It’s one of my comfort reads. Might be time for a re-read, in fact…
There’s also She Went All the Way by Meg Cabot, with a similar plot. She’s a screenwriter, he’s an action movie hero. Hijinks in Alaska.

Yes, that’s it: “Again” by Kathleen Gilles Seidel. Thank you :))
Erika got it in one!
Scribd has it if you subscribe to the service or get the free 30 day trial. I’m going to read it.
I thought this was the Lauren Blakely book I read, but the plot’s a bit different.
Definitely AGAIN! I love this book SO much. Especially that it’s a Regency soap opera!
If I am going to be confused with anyone, I will certainly take Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Thank you all for remembering.
Thanks both for the recommendations and the original inquiry about this book. I picked it up based on the high praise contained in the comments and really enjoyed it.
