Three Books Bundles and a Recommended Contemporary

  • The Blades of the Rose Bundle

The Blades of the Rose Bundle by Zoe Archer

RECOMMENDED: The Blades of the Rose bundle by Zoe Archer is $2.99 at select vendors! The bundle is four books with lots of adventuring in a historical setting and some steampunk elements. I really enjoyed this series, though I think Warrior might be my favorite. Any other fans of the series in the Bitchery?

The Blades of the Rose Bundle

    Warrior

The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond–where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn’t be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress–just what he needs.

Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley’s assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn’t easy to deceive…

    Scoundrel

London Harcourt’s father is bent on subjugating the world’s magic to British rule. But since London is a mere female, he hasn’t bothered to tell her so. He’s said only that he’s leading a voyage to the Greek isles. No matter, after a smothering marriage and three years of straitlaced widowhood, London jumps at the opportunity–unfortunately, right into the arms of Bennett Day.

Bennett is a ladies’ man, when he’s not dodging lethal attacks to protect the powers of the ancients from men like London’s father. Sometimes, he’s a ladies’ man even when he is dodging them. But the minute he sees London he knows she will require his full attention. The woman is lovely, brilliant, and the only known speaker of a dialect of ancient Greek that holds the key to calling down the wrath of the gods. Bennett will be risking his life again–but around London, what really worries him is the danger to his heart…

    Rebel

Nathan Lesperance is used to being different. He’s the first Native attorney in Vancouver, and welcome neither with white society nor his sometime tribe. Not to mention the powerful wildness he’s always felt inside him, too dangerous to set free. Then he met Astrid Bramfield and saw his like within her piercing eyes. Now, unless she helps him through the harsh terrain and the harsher unknowns of his true abilities, it could very well get him killed…

Astrid has traveled this path before. Once she was a Blade of the Rose, protecting the world’s magic from unscrupulous men, with her husband by her side. But she’s loved and lost, and as a world-class frontierswoman, she knows all about survival. Nathan’s searing gaze and long, lean muscles mean nothing but trouble. Yet something has ignited a forgotten flame inside her: a burning need for adventure, for life–and perhaps even for love…

    Stranger

Gemma Murphy has a nose for a story–even if the boys in Chicago’s newsrooms would rather focus on her chest. So when she runs into a handsome man of mystery discussing how to save the world from fancy-pants Brit conspirators, she’s sensing a scoop. Especially when he mentions there’s magic involved. Of course, getting him on the record would be easier if he hadn’t caught her eavesdropping…

Catullus Graves knows what it’s like to be shut out: his ancestors were slaves. And he’s a genius inventor with appropriately eccentric habits, so even people who love him find him a little odd. But after meeting a certain redheaded scribbler, he’s thinking of other types of science. Inconvenient, given that he needs to focus on preventing the end of the world as we know it. But with Gemma’s insatiable curiosity sparking Catullus’s inventive impulses, they might set off something explosive anyway…

  • Shelly Laurenston Bundle

Shelly Laurenston Bundle by Shelly Laurenston

The Shelly Laurenston Bundle is $2.99! This bundle features books one and two and then six and seven of the Pride series. Some readers were concerned about reading a series out of order with a gap between books two and six, but many were reassuring that these are standalones and can be read as such.

In The Mane Event, Shelly Laurenston introduced a whole new breed of heroes–sexy, shape-shifting hunks who redefine the term Alpha male. Now, in The Beast In Him, one gorgeous lone wolf is about to meet his match. . .

Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward “accidentally” bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she’s come since high school. Back then, Jess’s gangly limbs and bruised heart turned to jelly any time Smitty’s “all the better to ravish you with” body came near her. So, some things haven’t changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp–or twenty–with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.

Mace Llewellyn. Brendon Shaw. Two tall, gorgeous, sexy alpha heroes who are 100% male–with a little something extra. Lion-shifters, to be exact, who can unleash every woman’s animal side and still look good–make that spectacular–in a suit. . .and even better out of it. . .

NYPD cop Desiree “Dez” MacDermot knows she’s changed a lot since she palled around with her childhood buddy, Mace. But it’s fair to say that Mace has changed even more. It isn’t just those too-sexy gold eyes, or the six-four, built-like-a-Navy Seal body. It’s something in the way he sniffs her neck and purrs, making her entire body tingle. . . Meanwhile, for Tennessean Ronnie Lee Reed, New York City is the place where any girl–even one who runs with a Pack–can redefine herself. First order of business: find a mate, settle down, and stop using men for sex. Even big, gorgeous, lion shifter men like Brendon Shaw. But she needn’t worry, because now that Brendon’s set his sights on her, the predator in him is ready to pounce and never let go. . .

Seeing is deceiving. And Ric Van Holtz, the wolfishly sexy hero of Shelly Laurenston’s sizzling, wildly entertaining new tale, is nothing you expect-and everything you want…

When it comes to following her instincts, former Marine Dee-Ann Smith never holds back. And this deadly member of a shifter protection group will do anything to prove one of her own kind is having hybrids captured for dogfights. Trouble is, her too-cute rich-boy boss Ric Van Holtz insists on helping out. And his crazy-like-a-fox smarts and charming persistence are making it real hard for Dee to keep her heart safe….

He’s big, burly, and way smarter than your average shapeshifting bear. He’s also about to get trapped by own his game. . .

Lou Crushek is a reasonable, mellow, easygoing kind of guy. But once someone starts killing the scumbags he works so hard to bust, that really gets under his fur. Especially when that someone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that’s turning Crush’s lone-bear world upside down–and bringing his passion out of hibernation. . .

  • The Color of Heaven Bundle

The Color of Heaven Bundle by Julianne MacLean

The Color of Heaven Bundle by Julianne MacLean is $2.99 at Amazon and Kobo! This is a contemporary romance boxed set and contains books 1-3 in the Color of Heave series, plus a holiday novella. Some had issues getting into the first book because it skips around a lot from past to present, but others recommend this series for relaxing with an easy read.

This boxed set includes the first THREE books in the bestselling Color of Heaven series, plus a bonus Christmas novel. It’s more than 800 pages of deep emotion, unexpected twists, and memorable family drama.

THE COLOR OF HEAVEN (Book 1)

A deeply emotional tale about Sophie Duncan, a successful columnist whose world falls apart after her daughter’s unexpected illness and her husband’s shocking affair. When it seems nothing else could possibly go wrong, her car skids off an icy road and plunges into a frozen lake. There, in the cold dark depths of the water, a profound and extraordinary experience unlocks the surprising secrets from Sophie’s past, and teaches her what it means to truly live…and love.

Full of surprising twists and turns and a near-death experience that will leave you breathless, this story is not to be missed.

THE COLOR OF DESTINY (Book 2)

Eighteen years ago a teenage pregnancy changed Kate Worthington’s life forever. Faced with many difficult decisions, she chose to follow her heart and embrace an uncertain future with the father of her baby and her devoted first love.

At the same time, in another part of the world, sixteen-year-old Ryan Hamilton makes his own share of mistakes, but learns important lessons along the way. Twenty years later, Kate’s and Ryan’s paths cross in a way they could never expect, which makes them question the possibility of destiny. Even when all seems hopeless, could it be that everything happens for a reason, and we end up exactly where we are meant to be?

THE COLOR OF HOPE (Book 3)

Diana Moore has led a charmed life. She’s the daughter of a wealthy senator and living a glamorous city life, and is confident her handsome live-in boyfriend is about to propose. But everything is turned upside down when she learns of a mysterious woman who lives and works nearby – a woman who is her exact mirror image.

Diana is compelled to discover the truth about this woman’s identity, but the truth leads her down a path of secrets, betrayals, and shocking discoveries about her past. These discoveries follow her like a shadow.

Then she meets Dr. Jacob Peterson—a brilliant cardiac surgeon with an uncanny ability to heal those who are broken. With his help, Diana embarks upon a journey to restore her belief in the human spirit, and recover a sense of hope – that happiness, and love, may still be within reach for those willing to believe in second chances.

THE COLOR OF THE SEASON (Bonus Christmas Novel)

Boston cop, Josh Wallace, is having the worst day of his life. First, he’s dumped by the woman he was about to propose to, then everything goes downhill from there when he is shot in the line of duty. While recovering in the hospital, he can’t seem to forget the woman he wanted to marry, nor can he make sense of the vivid images that flashed before his eyes when he was wounded on the job.

As the holiday season approaches, everything he once believed about his life begins to shift when he meets Leah James, an enigmatic resident doctor who somehow holds the key to both his past and his future. Through his connection with Leah—and the unbelievable journey she takes him on–Josh soon learns that miracles can happen to anyone—especially at Christmastime…

  • How Not to Fall

How Not to Fall by Emily Foster

RECOMMENDED: How Not to Fall by Emily Foster is $2.99! We had two reviews of this book, one from me and one from a guest reviewers. We both really enjoyed it. I gave it a B:

I would recommend this book, honestly. The smart characters and Annie’s earnestness as a heroine are so refreshing, despite the emotional shift in the narrative. I’m glad I read it and I’m going to scramble for the continuation because I want to know what Emily Foster will do with these characters. What tropes will she use? Which ones will she tweak? What new things will I learn? And while I struggled with various aspects of How Not to Fall, I think it’s always a good sign when I still want to know what an author is going to do next.

And guest reviewer, Sabra Nicole, gave it an A:

I highly recommend this book to people (all genders, everyone) who are maaaybe, possibly interested in exploring BDSM themes in contemporary romantic-comedy, but are a little intimidated by the genre, or unsure where to even find that unique genre mish-mash. The humor, brilliant characters, and heart make How Not to Fall a compelling read that you will be tempted to read again, and again.

In her witty and breathtakingly sexy novel, Emily Foster introduces a story of lust, friendship, and other unpredictable experiments. . .

Data, research, scientific formulae–Annabelle Coffey is completely at ease with all of them. Men, not so much. But that’s all going to change after she asks Dr. Charles Douglas, the postdoctoral fellow in her lab, to have sex with her. Charles is not only beautiful, he is also adorably awkward, British, brilliant, and nice. What are the odds he’d turn her down?

Very high, as it happens. Something to do with that whole student/teacher/ethics thing. But in a few weeks, Annie will graduate. As soon as she does, the unlikely friendship that’s developing between them can turn physical–just until Annie leaves for graduate school. Yet nothing could have prepared either Annie or Charles for chemistry like this, or for what happens when a simple exercise in mutual pleasure turns into something as exhilarating and infernally complicated as love.

  1. Pamala says:

Such wonderful deals! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Blades of the Rose books and WARRIOR is my favorite too 🙂 And that is an awesome price on those Laurentson books because they’re hardly ever on sale too. I wanted to read HOW NOT TO FALL so this is an excellent incentive. Great news on a Sunday morning. 😀

  2. DonnaMarie says:

Definitely treat yourself to How Not To Fall In Love. It was delightful. And the Laurenston. Bear shifters. Snerf.

  3. Darlynne says:

THE MARX SISTERS by Barry Maitland is on sale for $1.99 at most digital stores. This is the first in an outstanding police procedural series set in London.

  4. Katie Lynn says:

Heartily recommend both the Laurenston bundle (seriously, her ebooks are hella expensive and that’s an amazing price) and How Not to Fall. I would hold off reading HNTF until the second book comes out in December, because it ends with the couple broken up. If it were billed as anything other than a romance it would stand well by itself, but thankfully there is a second book to look forward to and the sneak peek of it when I read it in the early morning a few months back made me want the next book very badly (and I hate books that end in cliffhangers).

Quick Trick by Skye Jordan is free right now, it’s a contemporary with a hockey playing hero, and while I haven’t read this particular book I’ve read others by this author and enjoyed them.

  5. CelineB says:

Ready to Fall by Olivia Dade is free on Amazon at least. It was on Boot Riot’s ‘Top 100 Romantic Comedies’ list. I read one novella in this series and had some problems with it (sex on the stuffed animals in the children’s section of the library was a big no for me), but I did like the author’s voice. Plus it’s free!

Also Hawke by Sawyer Bennett is $1.99 at Amazon (haven’t checked other sites). It’s a hockey book, part of her Cold Fury series.

  6. Susan says:

I already owned 3 of the 4 Laurenston books, and it was cheaper to pick up the bundle than buy the 4th book separately.

  7. Lil says:

I don’t generally much care for paranormals/steam punk/magic, but I picked up WARRIOR one day when I had nothing to read and absolutely loved it. It hasn’t prompted me to read much else in the paranormal genre, but it did make me a Zoe Archer fan.

  8. SusanE says:

I was disappointed yesterday to see that the bundles were not on sale for the B&N Nook but I just checked again and now they are! Can’t pass up 4 books for 3 bucks.
