Asa
Asa by Jay Crownover is $1.99! This is a new adult contemporary romance and I’ve spoken before on how much I love Crownover’s covers. I also like how Crownover deviates from the typical university settings of other NA books. This book has a 4.2-star rating on Goodreads and features an opposites attract pairing that readers loved: the heroine is a cop and the hero is an ex-con. However, a few readers got tired of Asa’s down-on-himself angst.
Starting over in Denver with a whole new circle of friends and family, Asa Cross struggles with being the man he knows everyone wants him to be and the man he knows he really is. A leopard doesn’t it change its spots and Asa has always been a predator. He doesn’t want to hurt those who love and rely on him, especially one luscious arresting cop who suddenly seems to be interested in him for far more than his penchant for breaking the law. But letting go of old habits is hard, and it’s easy to hit bottom when it’s the place you know best.
Royal Hastings is quickly learning what the bottom looks like after a tragic situation at work threatens not only her career but her partner’s life. As a woman who has only ever had a few real friends she’s trying to muddle through her confusion and devastation all alone. Except she can’t stop thinking about the sexy southern bartender she locked up. Crushing on Asa is the last thing she needs but his allure is too strong to resist. His long criminal record can only hurt her already shaky career and chasing after a guy who has no respect for the law or himself can only end in heartbreak.
A longtime criminal and a cop together just seems so wrong . . . but for Asa and Royal, being wrong together is the only right choice to make.

All of Me
All of Me by Jennifer Bernard is $1.99 at most vendors! Bernard, if the name seems familiar, is used to writing about sexy firemen. However, All of Me, is the first book in a new series featuring baseball players. Catnip for anyone who loves sports contemporaries. Readers liked how the couple seemed to be equals, though some felt the book ran a little long. Has anyone read this one?
Jennifer Bernard, the USA Today bestselling author of the Bachelor Firemen series, scores another homerun with a brand-new series about sexy, single baseball players.
Playing for the Kilby Catfish is hotshot pitcher Caleb Hart’s last chance to salvage his career after a major league meltdown. But the day of his opener with the minor league team, Caleb strikes out with the gorgeous woman who is delivering a petition to run the unruly Catfish out of town. Now, to stay in the lineup, Caleb will need to score big with the feisty brunette he can’t keep out of his thoughts.
After the nasty lies Sadie Merritt’s rich ex-boyfriend spread about her all over town, she’s lucky to have a job at all. She can’t afford to screw it up by falling for the player who is supposed to be helping her change the image of the fun-loving Catfish. But that’s easier said than done when Caleb’s voice alone is enough to make her pulse race. And when he surprises her with a mind-blowing kiss, she knows there’s no turning back.

Second Chance Summer
Second Chance Summer by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! This is a second chance romance between a firefighter and the woman he loved ten years ago. If your catnip is second chance romances, reviews on Goodreads highly recommend this one. However, some felt the romantic pace was a little uneven. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads
Cedar Ridge, Colorado, is famous for crisp mountain air, clear blue skies, and pine-scented breezes. And it’s the last place Lily Danville wants to be. But she needs a job, and there’s an opening at the hottest resort in her hometown. What has her concerned is the other hot property in Cedar Ridge: Aidan Kincaid-firefighter, rescue worker, and heartbreaker. She never could resist that devastating smile . . .
The Kincaid brothers are as rough and rugged as the Rocky Mountains they call home. Aidan has always done things his own way, by his own rules. And never has he regretted anything more than letting Lily walk out of his life ten years ago. If anyone has ever been in need of rescuing, she has. What she needs more than anything are long hikes, slow dances, and sizzling kisses. But that can only happen if he can get her to give Cedar Ridge-and this bad boy-a second chance…

Speaking of boxed sets, here is one that caught my eye: http://www.amazon.com/Fabulous-Firsts-Full-Length–Starter-Historical-ebook/dp/B016WXJXQA/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1448516378&sr=1-4&keywords=jill+barnett
It was Jill Barnett that made me look, but it is an old one (is she still even writing?). All of these are not brand new, but unlike most boxed sets, they are authors you’ve heard of and since the whole thing is only 99 cents I think it well worth it if you’ve been thinking of giving any of them a go. The Barnett is not my favorite of hers but is still a fun book.
