There's no witch in Cincinnati tougher, sexier, or more screwed up than bounty hunter Rachel Morgan, who's already put her love life and soul in dire jeopardy through her determined efforts to bring criminal night creatures to justice.
Between “runs,” she has her hands full fending off the attentions of her blood-drinking partner, keeping a deadly secret from her backup, and resisting a hot new vamp suitor.
Rachel must also take a stand in the war that's raging in the city's underworld, since she helped put away its former vampire kingpin – and made a deal with a powerful demon to do so that could cost her an eternity of pain, torment, and degradation.
And now her dark “master” is coming to collect his due.

Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has stayed ahead of trouble until now. A serial killer stalks the Hollows, claims victims across society, and ignites a vicious Inderland gang war.
Rachel hides an ancient artifact that could stop the killer or start a battle to the death among supernatural races of Cincinnati. Every action has its price.
When the vampire master Piscary is set free and the demonic Algaliarept dares to walk openly under the sun, even Rachel Morgan can't hide forever.

Just a warning to romance readers, this series is not romance. People die if the plot demands it. I’m curious enough to have read the first two books and will probably continue (at least as far as I already own the books), but I went into the series after watching an interview with the author, knowing that a certain much-loved character will die.
i second that these are not romances. however, there are romance-y entanglements at times. i have read them all, multiple times, and fully enjoy them. it is fun take on witches and vampires and pixies and all other “denizens of the night”. plus there are some totally butt-kicking females which i think makes for a fun read. =)
I’ve always considered these more along the lines of Urban Fantasy. Much like the Mercy Thompson series, there is a romantic element but it is secondary to the story.
Great books, though. Glad to see them on sale. 🙂
@sbSarah – A fist full of charms (#4) went down to 1.99 today! 🙂
