Book Review
Finders Keepers by Sarah Adler
I picked this book up only because I loved Adler’s second book, Happy Medium. (I haven’t read her first yet) For this book, I didn’t feel particularly moved by the blurb. I wasn’t interested in anything to do with a treasure hunt and second chance romance is usually a turn off for me. Yet I still picked this book up and I am so very glad I did. This ended up being a Bad Decisions … Continue reading Finders Keepers by Sarah Adler

Happy Medium by Sarah Adler
Gretchen Acorn is a fake spirit medium. Raised by a conman and from a long line of con artists, Gretchen is in the family business because conning people is the only way that she knows how to make a living. Something happened in her past, though (you find out towards the end of the book what it is) and her nascent conscience kicked into life. So acting as her own moral bulwark, she has The … Continue reading Happy Medium by Sarah Adler
Whatcha Reading? April 2024, Part One

Hey y’all! I’m driving the Whatcha Reading? bus this week, as Amanda is traveling the globe. Spring has SPROINGED around me. In a truly dorky move, I’m trying to match the colors for a quilt in progress because I love blue, green, and pink together. Here’s what’s on the currently-reading list at SBTB HQ – with … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? April 2024, Part One

Gothics, Historical Romance, & More

RECOMMENDED: D’Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding by Chencia C. Higgins is $2.99! Shana and Tara joint reviewed this one and gave it a B+:
Tara: Although the pacing of the last half was off for me, overall I had a great time reading D’Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding. I love reality show romances and I love fake relationship romances, so I was thrilled that this book is like the old Reese’s tagline: two great tastes that taste great together. These characters are memorable and I enjoyed my time with them.
Shana: Damn, now I want a peanut butter cup. Overall, I loved this book. There was just enough fake relationship and reality show drama to keep me reading, and I enjoyed the family antics, and healing. This book might appeal to readers who like seeing a chivalrous person woo a reluctant heroine, and don’t mind a few loose ends. I’d happily read this again.
