The Bride Test is so beautiful and Hoang was right when she said it was impossible not to love Esme. She’s tenacious and battles against her fear of failure, of judgement, and of her own self-doubt, to become this confident and self-assured woman. This Bride Test has only solidified my love for Hoang’s romances; they are truly a gift to the genre.
Readers who love thoughtful, specific worldbuilding and very thoughtful characters who slowly fall for one another will likely enjoy this book, though be warned that the tension and pace felt uneven and may require some reader perseverance.
I truly loved this book. Loved. It made me feel like a champagne bubble – all fizzy and light. When I think of all the magical feelings romance gives its readers, I will forever think of this book.
Amanda says she’s “jealous of those who get to read this for the first time,” which is pretty massive praise. If you’ve read this one, at $1.99, maybe you can gift it to a friend!

RECOMMENDED: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang is $2.99! (This could be a leftover KDD from the weekend.) I’m jealous of those who get to read this for the first time. We had a wonderful guest squee of this and it was my favorite read of 2018:

Welcome back to Wednesday Links! Last we talked, I mentioned my wine and cheese class. We had a spectacular cheese made by an Australian cheesemaker and it was made from buffalo milk. It was so good; we definitely brought some home, along with the truffle popcorn they paired it with. My social calendar feels pretty full the next few weeks. I’m one of those people who will make plans, dread it up until the last … Continue reading Links: Dogs, Elmo, & More→
RECOMMENDED: The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang is $1.99! This is the third book in The Kiss Quotient trilogy, which I loved. I liked this one a lot. Yes, I consider it to be a romance. However, I’m not sure if or when I’ll do a re-read as it deals heavily with caring for a parent, especially one with which the heroine has really complicated dynamics. I had to do that over the pandemic and it was a very personal and emotional read for me.

Welcome back, my perfect poptarts! Also, what are your favorite flavors? I personally love Brown Sugar Cinnamon and S’mores. So good. Well now I want poptarts. I leave for Germany in a week and I can hardly believe it. I’ll be doing a lot of day trips during the week while my brother is at work and I have some ideas already. I’m nervous, of course, but once I get there, I think I’ll be … Continue reading Links: Gin, Quizzes, & More→

A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane is $1.99! Romancelandia went nuts for this fantasy romance, though I will warn the environment and world is pretty bleak at times. We also had a great guest review for this one by Crystal Anne with an E. What do you think of the series?
