In a plot filled with external sources of tension (such as the aforementioned scorpion-tentacle monster) it’s the internal conflict Amina feels about her past as well as her relationships with her biological and found family that both ground and drive the story.
I cannot emphasize enough how hungry this book will make you.
Accidentally Engaged might be my top pick for “don’t read while hungry.” Between our heroine Reena’s bread baking (there’s rye, there’s challah, there’s an ongoing battle with a sourdough starter) and her Indian and East African cooking, I was craving a feast pretty much the whole time I was reading this book.
Jana Goes Wild by Farah Heron is $3.99! This is Heron’s latest and was recommended on Hide Your Wallet. I remember Sarah being curious about the setting. Have any of you read this one?
Luck and Last Resorts by Sarah Grunder Ruiz is $1.99! This is book two in a series, but operates fine as a standalone. I’ve heard good things about Ruiz’s writing from friends who read romance. Based on their comments, I expect lots of emotions and pining.

I adored Something Wild and Wonderful, a sweet romance between two men who meet while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). I thought it was a beautifully written, funny, warm, touching, empowering, and sexy grumpy-sunshine story.

Nobody’s Princess doesn’t take itself very seriously, so I was able to relax, and enjoy the fun. The love story competes with the Wynchesters’ delightful adventures, but I was having too good a time to mind. This is a whimsical delight that might work for readers who love lighthearted historicals about fighting injustice and found family.
