Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood is $2.99! I feel like I rarely see Hazelwood’s books on sale and I do worry this one will poof immediately. However, if you wanted to give this one a try without waiting for a library hold to come in, this can be yours for less than $3.

This book is a wonderful reading experience. The setting, clothes and manners are all from a familiar enough place in time that it didn’t require a ton of world building, but Elben was still unique as a fantasy world. The action and the conflict were paced very well so the book grows in momentum. There’s also the “Earl has to die” plotline that I always appreciate.

This book was gripping from beginning to end. The sense of place and atmosphere were fantastic. I was certainly entertained. However, the story raises some huge questions, both personal ones for the characters and more overarching philosophical and ethical ones, and then never really unpacks them. It was a light book with a heavier story trapped inside it that never quite made it out.
A Jingle Bell Mingle by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone is $1.99! This is book three in the Christmas Notch holiday romance series. It also came out in September, so a relatively recent release.
