Smart Podcast, Trashy Books Podcast

500. Mayhem with Amanda!

We did it! It’s episode 500!

Amanda and I have email and recommendations, your absolute favorite books, weird questions, and a LOT of mayhem. Plus mini interviews with Shana, Tara, Carrie & Elyse. There are so many great questions, clips, and conversations, you guessed it, there will be two episodes celebrating all the fun.

KEY QUESTIONS:

What would you do in the wasp/hair/bus situation?
What’s the worst commute you’ve ever had?
What would an AI generate for your industry conventions?
What book do you love most of all?

Our music in this episode is a custom composition from Sassy Outwater titled, “Rhumba for SB.” Thanks, Sassy!

This episode is dedicated to our fellow Smart Bitch Catherine Heloise McLean, whom we lost earlier in February. May her memory be a blessing, and may we all read wonderful books. With gold lame, glitter and excellent baking. And Eurovision.

ETA: I forgot the craft pictures! Egads, I’m sorry about that!

Rhonda's quilt assistant, Mal, who is orange and fluffy and very cute The tree pattern quilt Rhonda is making!

  1. ReneeG says:

Congrats on 500 wonderful episodes!! So enjoyable to put SBTB in my ears and learn something new or see something in a different way.

  2. Kate says:

Happy 500! I also miss the old skool time travel and ghost paranormals–those and the Harlequin Intrigues got me into romance. The two that stick out in my mind are Barbara Bretton’s Somewhere in Time and Everlastin’ by Mickee Madden that I think had a lenticular cover?

  3. Vivi12 says:

but where are the craft photos?

  4. Kareni says:

    Congratulations on your 500th episode!

For @Leslee, my fantasy recommendation is The Goblin Emperor. It has only a little romance, but it is a wonderful book.

  5. Quinn Wilde says:

I’m not a big fan of eating competitions (or all-you-can-eat buffets). But in the past, I have been the sort of person to eat one thing, day in, day out, for a particular meal until I get sick of it.

So, I’d be very good at a slow eating competition. Like, can you eat a maple oat nut scone from Starbucks for breakfast for an entire semester of graduate school.

  6. SB Sarah says:

I cannot believe I forgot to upload the quilt photos. My apologies! They’re up top.

  7. Alanna F says:

    Congrats on 500 episodes!

There are some time travel books I’ve read recently by Mariah Stone. She does a Highlander series and a Viking one.

  8. Leslee says:

@Kareni, I adore Goblin Emperor and in fact have written fanfic in that fandom, so, 300% agreed 🙂

Thanks both of you for all these suggestions! I’ve only read like two of them, so I am off to dive in! (And, conveniently, you guys pointed out one of the Chambers books being on sale this week, double thanks.)

    Congrats on 500, now 501.
