Cover Snark: Lifeless Eyes, Black Eyes, Like a Doll’s Eyes

Welcome back to Cover Snark!

Stolen by Addison Cain. A man with black linework tattoos all over his body. He's twisting at the torso and grabbing his side.

From Maeve: Honey, I think the shrimp was off…

Sarah: Lower left abdomen is appendix, right? Or is that gall bladder? DID SOMEONE STEAL HIS GALL BLADDER?

He’s really feeling himself.

Amanda: The tattoos are giving me some weird optical illusion, like his musculature is on the outside.

Sneezy: Me too. If not that, I can’t tell what tattoos are supposed to be.

It also looks like he’s wearing thigh highs, but if he is, why does he look like a zombie ate his brains?

The Best Husband in Texas by Lass Small. A man in a denim shirt and white cowboy hat glowers from the cover.

Melodie: If the “Best Husband in Texas” is this guy with the dead cold shark eyes I’m kinda worried for Texas.

Sarah: Even pixelated that expression gives me the jibblies.

Amanda: There’s a lot happening here, letter-wise. Also “Lass Small” I’m assuming is the author, but it feels like caveman speak for “tiny woman” and that makes me laugh.

Sneezy: This is a mess and I hate it.

The Wayward Son by Yvonne Lindsay. A man and woman on windy beach. The woman is tipping her head back at a concerning angle. At their feet is an ice bucket of champagne and some fruit.

Sarah: Here’s a truly excellent cover from this week’s RTRW.

Is he about to take a bite out of her throat? Dude, I think she needs all that.

Also the fact that they’re both kneeling and we can see their lower legs is so funny.

Amanda: Trying to enjoy my teeny tiny glass of champagne and fruit for ants while the wind is whipping my hair around and sand into my face sounds miserable.

Sneezy: Ha!!! The sand got to the champagne and the fruit before them AND the ants!

Crime Scene Conspiracy by Jessica Patch. A pickup truck is on fire in a field in front of a barn.

From SqueeMe: Is this a romance or an ad for an oversized pickup truck? Also nothing about this cover makes sense with the title or this being inspirational romance or romantic suspense.

Tara: I showed this one to a friend and he said: He spurned me so I burninated his truck

Sarah: BURNINATING THE COUNTRYSIDE

BURNINATING THE F150

Nothing says Godly Romance like creating your own Brownfield site.

The ground was contaminated after the fire, but their love was not!

Sneezy: I dunno, I know my love will be contaminated for sure if someone burned stuff so irresponsibly. “Darling, you could have started a wildfire. What can you possibly say for us to come back from that?”
