Spellbound by Allie Therin is $1.99! This is a gay fantasy historical romance with a dash of mystery. Most readers loved the writing, while others wished the execution were better. Reviews also mention that this one has closed door/off the page sex scenes.

SPELLBOUND: I was meh on this one. The whole time I was reading, I could feel the author working hard at moving characters around. Their actions weren’t motivated. But the premise was good and the side characters were good.

Trail of Lightning and Plague of Locusts were both amazing — I loved them, more than her more recent series, even. But at this point I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone because unless something has changed since I last checked about a year ago, Roanhorse has made it pretty clear we’re probably not getting anymore of that series. Which breaks my heart, as things are left pretty unresolved at the end of book 2, and I NEED to know what happens with those characters. Definitely read her other work, though.
