Hanukkah 2023 Night 4: Kate Spade Madison Card Holder!

A blue spangled background with a lit menorah and some blue ights on a table, with a framed picture of the Ladies ver 2.0, and in peach letters it says Hanukkah 2023 at the topIt’s the fourth night of Hanukkah, and we are halfway through!

I will tell you that in my household, some people who are not me count out the different candles to make sure that the colors are used equally and in a growing pattern.

It’s very nerdy. And fun.

First, my Hanukkah wishes for you tonight: may the people around you always make you feel safe and warm and especially so if they brought snacks.

For our fourth night of Hanukkah, we’re giving away a Kate Spade Madison Slim card holder in red!

A slim leather card holder with three slots for cards in red leather with kate spade new york in gold An overhead view showing the red leather card wallet flexed to show the interior fabric compartment

Cute, right?

Here are the details:

  • Material: Saffiano leather
  • Lining: fabric
  • Dimensions: 4.08″ W by 3.04″ H

  1. Yaara says:

Georgie All Along by Kate Clayborn was a SBTB rec that I enjoyed recently.

  2. Francesca says:

I’m going to turn on the way-back machine to 2011. Your review of The Tokaido Road by Lucia St Clair Robson made me want to read it so much.

It just made me realize how many years I’ve been coming here.

  3. Janiec says:

Would have to be Jane Harper’s The Dry.

  4. Jill Q. says:

I actually heard about it several years ago, but I finally read it this year so I’m counting it for this year, Chloe Liese’s ALWAYS ONLY YOU. So delightful!

  5. LisaM says:

A books-on-sale post sent me rushing off to read Katherine Addison’s The Goblin Emperor, for which I bless you.

  6. Nio says:

The Paladin series by T Kingfisher!

  7. Amy says:

Mimi Mathews, Jackie Lau, Talia Hibbert-lots of authors!

  8. Tina says:

It will always be Lord Of Scoundrels. The absolute best.

  9. DiscoDollyDeb says:

Too many to count! I always have a pad & pen next to me when I’m on the site to jot down book & author recommendations. I’d say most recently Ari Baran’s m/m hockey romances—recommended to me here by @flchen1. So good!

  10. Karen H says:

    Murderbot! – all of them

  11. Kim says:

OMG. I’ve probably read and enjoyed hundreds of SBTB recs…tough question!

I’m going to pick a recent read that I enjoyed and that I wouldn’t have learned about otherwise: THE VERY SECRET SOCIETY OF IRREGULAR WITCHES. It was described on SBTB as something like a cozy hug, and that was perfect.

  12. Lisa M says:

    Kit Rocha books

  13. Kim says:

Um, all things Deanna Raybourn! I think Killers of a Certain Age was the first rec, but then I started reading her Lady Jane series and then her Veronica Speedwell series.

(Still hoping to hear an announcement that they’re making Killers into a movie…..)

  14. Pickle says:

Gideon the Ninth. Y’all had me at “lesbian necromancer” and I’ve never looked back!

  15. Glenda M says:

I’ll keep it short and list 2 authors: Lyssa Kay Adams (Bromance Book Club series) and Ali Hazelwood (all of her books!)

  16. Rae A says:

Oh the murderbot series fits that bill

  17. cayenne says:

Kate Clayborn’s “Georgie All Along” was a fave this year.

  18. Noel Stark says:

Through I Rec League I found CS Pacat’s Captive Prince series which I’ve reread since. Soooooo good.

  19. Paula Swanton says:

The Cat Sebastian book We Could Be So Good was reviewed here and it did not disappoint!

  20. Patricia Hector says:

The Bone Orchard by Sara Mueller. I first listened to the audio version and then had to read it because that is a different experience. Then I had my library buy it so I could recommend it to everyone (I’m a librarian so that’s a lot of recommendations). I still have trouble explaining to people what the plot is and why I like it so much. I just tell them to read it!

Thank you to all the people at SBTB for all the great reviews and recommendations over the years.

  21. EC Spurlock says:

The Lizzie Hyde series by Viola Carr. I ate that glorious prose up with a spoon and I’ve been holding off reading the last one because I don’t want it to end!

  22. Dee says:

I second Deanna Raybourn, especially the Lady Julia mysteries.

  23. Beck says:

It’s hard to pick but I’ll say the Murderbot series.

  24. Emily S. says:

Jessie Mihalik, Polaris Rising. Love her writing, and what fun this series is!

  25. WhimsicalCow says:

Romantic Comedy was a great discovery and a really fun read!

  26. Malin says:

I read extremely favourable things about Gideon the Ninth in a number of places, but remember that the review from here was one of the things that made me finally pick it up. Glad I did, it’s a reading experience like no other.

  27. Karin says:

Just to pick one at random, Jennifer Aahley, The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
Happy Hanukkah and thanks for the giveaway!

  28. Karin says:

    *Ashley, of course(forehead slap)

  29. Vicki says:

A while ago, DiscoDollyDeb turned me on to Caitlin Crews and I have never looked back.

  30. Elizabeth says:

    Maybe Kate Clayborn’s Love Lettering…

  31. Maureen says:

The Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews is a favorite series of mine

  32. QueenVictoriaa says:

I first heard of Charming Colorwork Socks here, and although I don’t care to knit socks as much, I still enjoyed it!

  33. Lkbooklover says:

Winter’ Orbit was recommended here and I loved it.

  34. stylinsonbirds says:

Years ago but I’ll never forget being introduced to Alyssa Cole and An Extraordinary Union!

  35. Azure says:

I remember that this was the first place I heard about Courtney Milan, and the first book of hers I read was The Heiress Effect, which I didn’t realize was the second book in that series. Needless to say that I went back and binge read everything else she’d written up to that point!!

  36. DiscoDollyDeb says:

@Vicki: just in case you’re unaware, Crews also publishes under the names Megan Crane and M.M. Crane. All of her books are uniformly good.

  37. Kareni says:

So, so many including a number that others have already mentioned. The most recent may have been Calamity by Constance Fay.

  38. Em says:

Charm City Rocks by Matthew Norman is one I doubt I would have heard of/tried if it weren’t for SBTB and I really enjoyed it!

  39. Johnna Holloway says:

I have to admit I probably got back into reading romances because of this list. I don’t prowl bookstores or library shelves these days looking for books to read. These days I download and read on my kindle. Authors I have found here include Ali Hazelwood, Emily Henry, Julie Anne Long, and Camilla Monk.

  40. J says:

I’ve been introduced to so many great authors through this website over the years, it’s hard to choose. But two that would have to be in my top five Martha Wells (The Murderbot Chronicles) and Lucy Parker (‘Act Like It ‘ / London Tabloid series).
