The Princess Knight
The Princess Knight by G.A. Aiken is $2.99 and it’s also part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which feature a ton of romance! This is book two in the Scarred Earth Saga. I loved and reviewed the first book and Lara reviewed this one, giving it a B:
The cast of characters EXPLODES in this book. Pay attention to each and every new character; they are all important. We pop into a lot of different POVs which can be a little dizzying, but adds beautifully to the immersive world building of it all.
In New York Times bestselling author G.A. Aiken’s gripping new fantasy romance series, the Blacksmith Queen must confront armies and pretenders desperate to take her new-won crown. But with the Princess Knight at her side and a centaur warrior clan at her back, she’ll risk everything for victory . . .
LONG LIVE THE QUEEN
Gemma Smythe dedicated her life to the glory of battle. With her fellow War Monks, she worshipped the war gods, rained destruction on her enemies, and raised the dead when the fancy took her. Until her sister Keeley became the prophesied Blacksmith Queen, and Gemma broke faith with her order to journey to the Amichai Mountain and fight by Keeley’s side.
The Amichai warriors are an unruly, never-to-be-tamed lot, especially their leader-in-waiting, Quinn. But when the War Monks declare support for Gemma’s ruthless younger sister Beatrix, the immaturity of her key ally is the least of Gemma’s problems. She has to get to the grand masters, dispel their grudge against her, and persuade them to fight for Keeley and justice. If her conviction can’t sway them, perhaps Quinn’s irritating, irreverent, clearly unhinged, ferocity will win the day . . .

Merry Inkmas
Merry Inkmas by Talia Hibbert is $2.99 at Amazon! I believe it’s still full price at $3.99 elsewhere. This is a holiday novella, though I know Hibbert is an auto-buy for some readers.

When I checked today’s Kindle Daily Deals, most of what I saw were Agatha Christie books for $3.99 or less. This includes my favorite Christie, the very atypical ENDLESS NIGHT ($1.99 today). Even if you’re not a fan of Christie’s usual style, ENDLESS NIGHT—the moody & atmospheric story of a working-class drifter who marries a wealthy woman—is cleverly-written, with just the faintest hint of the paranormal. It’s also the closest thing to noir that Christie ever wrote. Highly recommended.
@DiscoDollyDeb: Oddly, there are two sets of KDDs today. One that is Agatha Christie and then one below that initial display with mainly romances. Roughly 6 pages I think?
Deborah Harkness’ All Souls trilogy is $1.99 on kobo and kindle.
Thanks D3! I picked up some Agatha Christie I haven’t read in years
Jackie Lau has three Christmas novellas in one bundle for $0.99!
I already have them, and they are all the comfy adorableness that you’d expect from Jackie Lau.

Rachel Reid’s first 3 Game Changer books are in a bundle on Kindle for $2.99! Highly recommend as it’s a great start to the series (there’s only 5 books at the moment, so this is most of them) and amazing price: https://www.amazon.com/Game-Changers-Collection-Romance-Stories-ebook/dp/B085F1P7BY/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=Rachel+Reid+game+changers&qid=1638901902&s=digital-text&sr=1-9
Why are 26 yr olds worried that their labia is uncool?! I’m well past 26 so I’m more curious than anything. Do I need to read the book??
@Jen—the short version is that labia in porn basically all look the same, but there’s really a wide range of what’s normal (in terms of color, length, etc.) Some plastic surgeons offer labiaplasty and other “sculpting” procedures so you too can have the porno labia look! Anyway, I think it’s intended to reassure women that there’s really a wide range of normal when it comes to genitalia and no one should be telling you otherwise/making you think you need surgery (!!!) on them.
Thanks for the hint about the Game Changers Collection, @spinster.revival. I went in and grabbed it. Only it’s not downloading – on any of my devices. Grrr… Has anybody else had this problem?
is there anything in The Vagina Bible about endometriosis?
@Midge – Amazon is having technical difficulties today.
@ Jen – I haven’t read the book, but I followed Dr Gunter’s blog and she covered the whole range of what a woman or girl might find happening to her body from pre-menstrual to menopausal. I’m way beyond menopause having had to hve a total hysterectomy, but I’m buying it as I know there will still be information useful to me. Her writing is clear and accessible, but perhaps most important of all she believes we have a right to understand our bodies, as well as to know what tretments are available for any problems that arise – and there are treatments for most of them despite what we are too often still told.
@Varian Ross: Endometriosis is mentioned on 5 scattered pages (mostly in lists of less-than-fun conditions and one expanded definition), but there’s not a deep dive into the subject in the book.
@Varian Ross—not really. I have the book and just did a search for endometriosis, and while it comes up a few times there isn’t any specific detail given to it. The only header even for it is in a section about painful sex, and it’s just a paragraph. I do think Dr. Jen is awesome, so it’s possible her bog has more, but it doesn’t seem like there’s really much overview on it in The Vagina Bible.
*Blog not bog, and it looks like Ren Benton and I both responded at the same time. 🙂
@Varian, I was disappointed that endo wasn’t well covered in Dr Gunter’s book, but it is a specialized area that most GYN do not effectively treat… if you are looking for books that cover Endo well, Beating Endo by Dr Orbuch is pretty good. They talk about surgical and non surgical treatments.
@Vivian Ross Re Dr. Gunter on endometriosis: I receive an emailed newsletter from her every week or so. The most recent made mention of how a TENS unit can be useful on managing the pain of endometriosis. That is not the main subject of the issue, but here’s a bit of it: “The TENS sends an electrical current across the skin to the nerves. How exactly a TENS reduces pain isn’t truly known, but there are several hypotheses. What we do know is there is good data showing a high-frequency setting or hfTENS is helpful for period pain––up to 80% get some relief.”
@spinster.revival Thanks so much for the info. on the Game Changer books – I started the first one recently and have been trying to figure out whether to splurge to buy the next two. Now I don’t need to – a great deal!
@Varian Ross – Dr. Gunter’s book the Menopause Manifesto is on KU. It’s a good resource for lots of stuff, but I just checked and there’s not much discussion of endo. in that book either.
I’ve been reading The Menopause Manifesto and wish that I could have read it 3 or 4 years ago. I regret not reading Vagina Bible when it came out. The owner’s manual that I didn’t know I needed.
Okay, I flipped through The Vagina Bible. It doesn’t have a section just on endo, but it answered a question about a weird new pain I’m having!
So it’s been worth buying already, just to answer my “do I need to tell my doctor about this?” question. (Yes, yes I do.)
