Books On Sale

So Many Popular Books on Sale, Y’all!

Thank you for all the sale suggestions this week! Today we’ve got some bestsellers including a Brenda Jackson novel, plus some cookbooks! YAY FOOD!

  • The Ex Talk

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $1.99! Several of you flagged this one yesterday, including Annie Kate, who said that this book “is cute and funny and emotional, and also the hero’s hobby is restoring antique cast-iron pans, so obviously $1.99 is a steal.” (This would be the type of book I’d surprise gift to several friends – which I’m going to go do right now.)

Public radio co-hosts navigate mixed signals in Rachel Lynn Solomon’s sparkling romantic comedy debut.

Shay Goldstein has been a producer at her Seattle public radio station for nearly a decade, and she can’t imagine working anywhere else. But lately it’s been a constant clash between her and her newest colleague, Dominic Yun, who’s fresh off a journalism master’s program and convinced he knows everything about public radio.

When the struggling station needs a new concept, Shay proposes a show that her boss green-lights with excitement. On The Ex Talk, two exes will deliver relationship advice live, on air. Their boss decides Shay and Dominic are the perfect co-hosts, given how much they already despise each other. Neither loves the idea of lying to listeners, but it’s this or unemployment. Their audience gets invested fast, and it’s not long before The Ex Talk becomes a must-listen in Seattle and climbs podcast charts.

As the show gets bigger, so does their deception, especially when Shay and Dominic start to fall for each other. In an industry that values truth, getting caught could mean the end of more than just their careers.

  • Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin is .99! This is of “my life has collapsed and I’ve starting everything over” flavor of stories, with a protagonist who discovers her husband has cheated on her, and drunkenly buys a bright pink camper van. (And to think, my late night shopping was comfy shoes on QVC. I’m missing something, clearly.) This book has a 3.9-star average, and many readers loved the feel-good nature of the story. Have you read this one?

Rosie Lewis has her life together.

A swanky job as a Michelin-Starred Sous Chef, a loving husband and future children scheduled for an exact date.

That’s until she comes home one day to find her husband’s pre-packed bag and a confession that he’s had an affair.

Heartbroken and devastated, Rosie drowns her sorrows in a glass (or three) of wine, only to discover the following morning that she has spontaneously invested in a bright pink campervan to facilitate her grand plans to travel the country.

Now, Rosie is about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, and the chance to change her life! With Poppy, her new-found travelling tea shop in tow, nothing could go wrong, could it…?

  • From the Oven to the Table

From the Oven to the Table by Diana Henry

From the Oven to the Table by Diana Henry is $1.99! This is a bestselling cookbook has a 3.9 star average on Goodreads, and I totally bought it while putting this post together. I love cooking meals that don’t require a lot of fussing, and Nigella had me at “bung-it-in-the-oven.”

”For bung-it-in-the-oven cooks everywhere, this is a must-have book: Diana Henry has a genius for flavour.” – Nigella Lawson

Whether you’re short of time or just prefer to keep things simple, From the Oven to the Table shows how the oven can do much of the work that goes into making great food.

Diana Henry’s favourite way to cook is to throw ingredients into a dish or roasting tin, slide them in the oven and let the heat behind that closed door transform them into golden, burnished meals. Most of the easy-going recipes in this wonderfully varied collection are cooked in one dish; some are ideas for simple accompaniments that can be cooked on another shelf at the same time.

From quick after-work suppers to feasts for friends, the dishes are vibrant and modern and focus on grains, pulses and vegetables as much as meat and fish. With recipes such as Chicken Thighs with Miso, Sweet Potatoes & Spring Onions, Roast Indian-spiced Vegetables with Lime-Coriander Butter, and Roast Stone Fruit with Almond and Orange Flower Crumbs, Diana shows how the oven is the most useful bit of kit you have in your kitchen.

  • Love in Catalina Cove

Love in Catalina Cove by Brenda Jackson

Love in Catalina Cove by Brenda Jackson is $1.99. This is the first book in the Catalina Cove series, and book two, Forget Me Not, is also on sale at $3.99. Love in Catalina Cove has a 4.3-star average on Goodreads, where readers say it’s emotional, with twists, and turns, and a whopping complex set of family secrets. Have you read this one?

In her brand-new series, Brenda Jackson welcomes you to Catalina Cove, where even the biggest heartbreaks can be healed…

In the wake of a devastating teen pregnancy that left her childless and heartbroken, Vashti Alcindor left Catalina Cove, Louisiana, with no plans to return. Now, over a decade later, Vashti reluctantly finds herself back in her hometown after inheriting her aunt’s B and B. Her homecoming gets off to a rocky start when the new sheriff, Sawyer Grisham, pulls her over for speeding, and things go downhill from there.

The B and B, a place she’d always found refuge in when it seemed like the whole world was against her, has fallen into disrepair. When a surprising benefactor encourages Vashti to reopen the B and B, Vashti embraces a fresh start, and soon old hurts begin to fade as she makes new memories with the town—and its handsome sheriff…

But some pasts are too big to escape, and when a bombshell of a secret changes everything she thought was true, Vashti is left reeling. With Sawyer and his teenage daughter determined to see her through the storm, though, she’s learning family isn’t always a matter of blood—sometimes it’s a matter of heart.
