Links: Hamilton, Dracula, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Hey there! My brain is currently mush, so if I’ve already posted some of these links in the last couple weeks, my apologies.

I was at a wedding this weekend at a distillery. It was cold, but thankfully there was an open bar, prime rib, and some of the most delicious wedding cake I’ve ever had. I say this as someone who has attend five weddings this year.

Just in case you want to add more books to your TBR pile, here’s a big list of fantasy books out this month!

The SPCA of Wake County in North Carolina has a calendar in the works. If you don’t want to wait, here are some behind the scenes shots with adorable animals and Carolina Hurricanes hockey players!

I loved this story about head usher Tanya Heath rallying the troops to make sure no woman gets left behind during the Hamilton intermission bathroom break.

This livetweeting of one woman’s reading of Dracula is easily the funniest thing I’ve read in a while. Fingers crossed there’s more to come!

Love learning about fashion history? This video kept showing up in my recommended feed on YouTube during October. I finally watched it and now I can’t some watching Bernadette Banner’s videos.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I read this a couple of weeks ago and forgot to post the link. I’ve enjoyed several of Tamsen Parker’s books in the past. [CW: Discission of depression]

Thanks for sharing the link about the Hamilton intermissions! As a former volunteer Symphony usher, I’ve declared Tanya Heath as one of my she-roes.

I do love our local hockey team. And it’s almost time for our Santa Paws 5k run.

  4. Sharon Taylor says:

I love Bernadette Banner! Her videos are definite comfort watches when life is too much.

I’ve been listening to the most adorable podcast while making tassels on my shawl ( and having some unraveling and the podcast is so entertaining I wasn’t even mad at my poor tassels skills). It’s called The two Princes and there is a dangerous forest, a baby dragon, feminism and it’s LGBTQA! It’s from Gimlet as an initiative to have more LGBTQA content for children and teens and I’m just sad they don’t have a Patreon or Kickstarter or anything to get more content or this in children’s book form because I seriously need more!

  6. Escapeologist says:

@Hannah check out the Dragon Prince on Netflix, The Witch Boy graphic novel and sequels by Molly Knox Ostertag and The Tea Dragon Society and other graphic novels by Katie O’Neill. My 10 year old daughter and I love them. Gorgeous artwork, dragons, magic, and LGBTQA representation.

  7. Hannah says:

@Escapeologist Ohhh Thank you! Sadly my Netflix doesn’t seem to have The Dragon Prince but I’m going to check the rest. It makes me super happy there is all this content available for children now!
