I admit that when I took the poll despite all the wonderful reviews, I totally guessed as I couldn’t remember all that was said about the many, many books. I did get Regency Historical Romance right as I voted for the book I read. Yay Tessa!

I’m surprised how many of the winners I voted for. That’s not usually the case. And six percent of us voted for “Secrets of Bella Terra”?! REALLY? Oh, well, one man’s trash, another man’s treasure.

It was my impression the poll was in the spirit of “Who do you think WILL win?” as opposed to “Who do you think SHOULD win?”, so a vote may be more representative of the caster’s opinion of the judging process than her opinion of the book.

I knew who would win in my category. Doukakis’s Apprentice is a rockin’ great book. And the award ceremony was a good one. Light and fun and they kept it moving. Plus, okay. I confess. I LOVE the movie clips. They have a propensity for clips from The Princess Bride and you know what? Fine with me. :)

Wasn’t Christina Brooke a finalist in the Regency section?

Heiress in Love was indeed nominated, but alas, that book didn’t get any votes in this poll so it doesn’t show in the results.

True Colors by Joyce Lamb is one of my favorite. I hope to see it on top!

I am THRILLED that Thea Harrison’s Dragon Bound won in the paranormal category!

I would totally feel like a genius for guessing 6 of the winners correctly, if 3 of my choices weren’t “this is the only one I’ve read in this category, and I read it because the SBTB RITA guest reviewers made it seem awesome.”
I guess I can feel like a genius for reading the reviews here.

Given who she was up against, Serena Miller was quite floored and humbled by her win in the Inspy category. I’ve been in touch with several of the nominees, all of whom were happy to see a debut author—and fresh face—win in this category.
