I asked this question on Bluesky a bit ago, and was enchanted with all the answers (and all the covers). What romance novel could you do a 10 minute presentation on with no warning? Vintage old skool romances welcome! When I first posted this back in September 2024, I thought it would be Midsummer Magic by Catherine Coulter, the first romance I read, and one that “lives in the inside foyer of my brain, ready to … Continue reading Which Romance Could You Give a 10 Minute Presentation About with No Prep? →

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson is $1.99! This graphic novel comes highly recommended and if you dug Carrie’s Lumberjanes review, you might consider picking this one up. Some were a little confused by the end to this graphic novel, but many loved the blend of science, action, and humor. Have you read this one?

RECOMMENDED: Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova is $1.99 at Amazon. I’m not sure if this is a left over Kindle Daily Deal from yesterday, so it may be expiring soon. Sarah read this book last year and gave it a B grade:
Overall, I think this book contains a fabulous world with a terrific, galloping adventure through a vivid and wrenching underworld. While I was reading it, I had a hard time putting it down. But the story has most of its strength in the plot and the world-building than in the characters and their emotional development and consistency, and I missed those aspects even while I enjoyed the rest.

Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and so far, hasn’t been price-matched. This is one book I could never read because the hero has the exact name (first and last) of an ex-boyfriend. Awkward. Many readers loved this book and McNaught’s writing, though there were some who thought both main characters were kind of awful.

My One and Only by Kristan Higgans is $1.99 at most vendors and $2.99 elsewhere! This is a contemporary second chance romance with a road trip plot. Catnip, anyone? Some readers felt the romance was predictable and just sort of meh, while others really loved how Higgins handled the second chance/reunited exes trope. Readers also mentioned the book has some great secondary characters. Have you read this one?
