The Dukes of Vauxhall is 99c! This is a historical romance anthology with four novellas. All of the romances take place simultaneously and readers say the authors did a great job keeping the continuity straight. However, with anthologies, not all of the stories are equal in their enjoyment. Have you read this one?
Last Night with the Duke by Amelia Grey is $1.99! This is the first book in The Rakes of St. James series and the heroine is the chaperone to the hero’s sisters. Readers warn that the romance and plot is pretty slow to develop, while others recommend this book for a cute and funny romance.
A Most Unlikely Duke by Sophie Barnes is $1.99! This is the first book in the Diamonds in the Rough historical romance series, and I actually really like the cover. Carrie read this one and gave it a B:
I loved this book for its lovely use of language, its focus on the problems of both the lower and upper classes, the incredibly likeable characters, and the affirming, sexy, sweet romance.
The Emperor’s Arrow by Lauren D.M. Smith is $1.99! This is a fantasy romance, so if you’re on that genre kick, pick this one up! It was winner of Harlequin’s 2015 So You Think You Can Write contest and features a warrior/archer heroine. Readers really loved the heroine, while others wanted a stronger romance.
The Infamous Heir by Elizabeth Michels is 99c! This is book one in the Spare Heirs series. It features a prize-fighting hero who suddenly takes over his brother’s title of nobility. Readers wanted more chemistry between the hero and heroine, but many really loved the hero. I mean, based on the book’s description, who wouldn’t?
RECOMMENDED: Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel is $1.99! I think this is a Kindle Daily Deal left over from yesterday, so get the sale before it changes! It’s a scifi novel with a female protagonist. Readers say that though this scifi is a little darker and less “feel good,” the loved it. However, some felt a bulk of the book was just setup and information dumping for the next book. Both Elyse & I loved it and I highly recommend the audio.
I Love This Bar by Carolyn Brown is 99c! This is the first book in the Honky Tonk series and features a feisty bar owner. It’s light on sex scenes, but readers who don’t normally read contemporary westerns seemed to like this one. However, if you are a fan of contemporary westerns, a bunch of Brown’s books are priced at 99c.
The Deep End by Kristen Ashley is $1.99! This is the first book in her new Honey series and features an alpha hero who happens to be a submissive in the bedroom. I met fellow Boston bitch Jayne at RT this year and she told me it’s fantastic. However, some readers felt the writing was too “flowery” for a typical Kristen Ashley romance. If you’ve read this, tell me what you thought!
Sweet Disorder by Rose Lerner is 99c! This is a unique historical featuring the son of an earl, and a heroine who has one piece of power: two votes. She can’t cast them (pesky ovaries) but her husband can, so her hand in marriage makes her a political pawn. This book has a 3.7-star average.
The Jade Temptress by Jeannie Lin is $1.99! The first book in the series was on sale a couple weeks ago and came highly recommended. This is an opposites attract historical romance with some mystery elements. Readers loved the setting, while others mentioned it didn’t capture their excitement as well as the first book. Readers, what are your opinions?
The Trouble with Harry by Katie MacAlister is $1.99! This is a historical romance with a spy hero who has five children, and a heroine hiding her identity. Readers loved the humor, especially the crazy kids wreaking havoc on the household. However, some found the circumstances to be a little silly. Have you read this one?
