The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi is $1.99! I believe this is Chokshi’s full-length adult debut. It’s a Gothic fantasy and it’s had a cover redesign since it’s release. I think I prefer the the original.

RECOMMENDED: The Lion’s Den by Katherine St. John is $4.99! Elyse wrote a Lightning Review for this one and gave it an A. Definitely check out her review for a list of triggers to be aware of.
This book is really two mysteries in one, and when they collide it’s a wonderful “ah-ha” moment. I wish I could say more than that, but I don’t want to ruin a single thing for another reader.

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading October 2021 New Releases, Part One →
Jade City by Fonda Lee is $2.99! This adult fantasy novel incredibly violent, according to reviews. But readers loved the world building and threads of mythology weaved into the story. To be honest, the book sounds intense and awesome, and a great follow up if you just watched Shangi Chi.

Sword, Stone, Table is an anthology of Arthurian retellings, that, according to the blurb, features… …stories by a bestselling, cross-genre assortment of the most exciting writers working today, [in] an anthology of gender-bent, race-bent, LGBTQIA+, and inclusive retellings from the vast lore surrounding King Arthur, Camelot, and the Knights of the Round Table. It’s a good anthology, with a range of stories in a variety of genres, but I must admit, I’d assumed from that … Continue reading Sword, Stone, Table: Old Legends, New Voices edited by Swapna Krishna and Jenn Northington →
Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews is 99c at Amazon! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. I’ve heard good things about this book and it has a mix of scifi and paranormal elements, and I really don’t know why I’m dragging my feet on reading this series. It isn’t price-matched yet, but maybe later!

It’s time to gaze upon some great covers! Here are a few that we’ve been talking about recently. Sarah: That cover is staggeringly beautiful. Amanda: Wow. That’s all I can really say. Sarah: I sent it to Adam: “That cover is gorgeous.” Like, my jaw dropped when I saw the whole thing. Carrie: From colors to concept – gorgeous, and tells us what the book is about very simply and effectively. Amanda: Proof that the … Continue reading Cover Awe: UK Covers, Cozy Estates, & More →
Whiskey Sharp: Jagged by Lauren Dane is $1.99 at Amazon! This book came out just last Tuesday and right now, the lack of price-matching makes me worry that this deal might end really soon. Sarah mentioned that she was excited for this one in March 2018’s Hide Your Wallet, but issued a word of caution if you’re upset by narcissistic, gaslighting parents.
