RECOMMENDED: When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare is $1.99! If you haven’t read a Dare book before or have missed out on this one, I highly suggest rectifying that problem. Elyse loved this book so much and gave it an A:
Everything about When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare worked for me. Everything. Bust out the squee mop, y’all because this review is just going to be a flappy-hands Good Book Noise® mess.
Things this book has:
1. A sexy Scot hero I pictured as Sam Heughan.
2. A heroine who is a naturalist and illustrator.
3. Tons of UST.
4. A completely crazy sauce plot that Dare pulls off flawlessly.
5. A missing lobster.

RECOMMENDED: Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $1.99! Apologies if this is a leftover deal from the weekend. Elyse reviewed this one and gave it an A:
Business or Pleasure is a sex-positive, low-conflict celebrity rom com that worked out great for me. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book (especially the sex positivity!), but it won’t work for anyone looking for angst.

Welcome back to Hide Your Wallet! We’re officially in June and I am severely worried for my own book budget. Most of these selections are from me and the rest of my month looks equally as “booked.” (lol) How is your month looking in terms of new releases? Let us know what you’re excited for this week in the comments!
RECOMMENDED: The Blighted Stars by Megan E. O’Keefe is $2.99! Elyse loved this scifi with romantic elements and gave it an A, but gave a warning:
The Blighted Stars is the first book in a series, so we don’t get a ton of resolution in this novel, romantic or otherwise. If you’re looking for a complete romantic arc, don’t start this book.

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $1.99! I’m unsure if this is a leftover Kindle Daily Deal from yesterday. Catherine read this one and gave it a B-:
There was some lovely writing, some fantastic banter, and I really did like Shay and Dominic together. They had terrific chemistry and the sort of teasing relationship that makes me very happy, because it means there is a firm foundation of friendship underneath the romance.

Business or Pleasure is a sex-positive, low-conflict celebrity rom com that worked out great for me. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book (especially the sex positivity!), but it won’t work for anyone looking for angst. Chandler Cohen wanted to be a writer since she was child, but she chose to focus on journalism rather than creative writing in college because it seemed like a safer bet. Now that there are fewer … Continue reading Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon →
Hide those wallets because it’s Tuesday, and that means new releases. Admittedly, I think it’s a slow start to the month, but the next two weeks are looking overloaded with new books we want to pick up. All I’m saying is get ready and gird yourselves for the next two HYW posts. This one has a couple rereleases of previously published books with new covers or updated content. There are also contemporary romances and mysteries!
RECOMMENDED: Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $2.99! Carrie read this one and gave it a B+:
I’ve read a lot of books recently in which the romance was the least interesting part of the book. This book gave me the opposite feeling. Ari and Russell are nice people who are nice to spend time with, so while this book was not, shall we say, action packed, it was a lovely story about being honest with and about yourself and others and finding unexpected love.

The Emma Project by Sonali Dev is $3.99! This is the last in Dev’s Austen-inspired Rajes series and is an Emma retelling. Sonali was also just on the podcast and as always, is such a blast to talk to.

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), and we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading May 2022 New Releases, Part Two →
Weather Girl is a rom-com that manages to stay sweet and funny despite tackling some serious subject matter. I found this book to be charming and relatable, and I especially enjoyed the mature communication between the two leads. Ari Abrams loves being a meteorologist, but hates the constant conflict between her boss (the weather reporter, Torrance Hale), and Torrance’s ex (Seth, the station director). After a particularly awful and grossly unprofessional fight between Torrance and … Continue reading Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon →
