I was pleasantly surprised by Scandal Never Sleeps. It was the hot contemporary I wanted but with a side of delicious mystery, and I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in Seduction in Session.

How to Find a Princess is an imaginative twist on a modern lost royal trope, and a character-driven story that made me fall in love with everyone I met, even if they occasionally frustrated me.
Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow is $1.99! This one was published by Amazon, so it’s only available there. On Goodreads, there does seem to be some confusion on whether this falls into adult romance or young adult. Others say it splits the different at new adult.
RECOMMENDED: The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken is $2.99! This was my one pick for hilarious reading in our Ready Set Go. I also gave this an A-. Seriously, it’s so much fun:
The Blacksmith Queen is a bloody, feminist romp that exudes girl power in all forms, and I’m envious of its fantasy girl squad.
Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! This is the eighth book in the Heartbreaker Bay contemporary romance series. It’s also a small town holiday romance. Shalvis is an autobuy for a lot of readers and I know Elyse has had good experiences with her holiday romances specifically.
RECOMMENDED: Two Rogues Make a Right by Cat Sebastian is $1.99! Lara wrote a Lightning Review for this one and gave it an A:

I took a chance on this book because it has a dog in it, and for the most part the chance paid off. RECOMMENDED: The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember is $2.99! This is a lesbian romance between a mermaid and a Viking shield maiden. Elyse read this one and gave it a B+:
It works really amazingly as a feminist retelling of a beloved fairytale, and it’s rich in detail about what mermaid life would be like, but purely as a romance, the heroines spend too much time apart to be satisfying.
Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston is $2.99! This is the first book in the Honey Badger Chronicles. Sarah read this one and gave it a B grade:
Among my favorite things about Laurenston’s writing is how very affirming and inspiring and a whole lot of fun it is, because angry, fearless women make room for themselves, they get shit done, and they’re the heroines. More honey badgers, please.
Much Ado About Jack by Christy English is $2.99! I really like this cover. The model has a great sense of…presence. This is the third book in the Shakespeare in Love series. The first book is currently free and the second one is only $1.99. Many reviewers mentioned that those reading this as a standalone may be taking a risk since past characters make a frequent appearance, while others felt this historical was well-researched.
