Bonds of Courage by Lynda Aicher is $1.99! This is an erotic romance with a hockey player hero and dominatrix heroine, and hello catnip! I’m always on the search for more Dommes in romance and I’m very curious about this one. Have you read it?
My One and Only Duke by Grace Burrowes is $1.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, and wow there are a lot of them. This is the first book in the Rogues to Riches series, and the description compares it to a Cinderella story. There is a mystery element to this romance, which some readers loved and others didn’t.
How to Be Less Stupid About Race by Crystal Marie Fleming is $2.99! Earlier this year, anti-racist books were flying off the shelves, but of course, we should all continue to do the work in being anti-racist even after the cultural zeitgeist has passed.
I enjoyed the complexity of the characters, and I was especially intrigued by Isobel, whose inner life is so opaque to her sister, and yet clearly quite well-developed. There’s a lot of heat and sensuality in the book, and some lovely moments of humour. These are all really big positives.
Indigo by Beverly Jenkins is $2.99 at select vendors! This book was a previous Sizzling Book Club pick and is featured in our discussion on alpha heroes in historical romance. If you’ve been waiting to give Beverly Jenkins a try, a $2.99 sale price is a pretty darn good incentive! Any Indigo fans in the Bitchery?
Love and Other Scandals by Caroline Linden is $2.99! Several of Linden’s books are on sale. This is book one in the Scandalous series, which is described on Goodreads thusly: “A series in which a shocking book—Fifty Shades of Grey for the Regency era—has all of London talking and gives more than one young miss a mind for scandal.”
This is the perfect breezy summer read. It is also the perfect fresh spring read, the perfect crisp fall read, and the perfect cozy winter read. I hope I’ve adequately conveyed that I have so many feelings about this delightful book – and they are all good.
The Lightning Reviews today are all romances! I feel like it’s been a while since that happened. However, they are all different when it comes to subgenre: historical romance, contemporary romance, and romantic suspense. Also on the bright side, they’re all reviewed pretty favorably in case you need more suggestions on what to read!
A Duke by Any Other Name was exactly the book my anxiety brain needed right now. I’ll be honest, I found previous books in the series to be a bit slow, but right now I will take all the details of Regency living. Give me pages about when is the best time to separate the irises in the walled garden. Descriptions of the famous cheese-with-dill the heroine’s estate produces? Yes, please. Aside from being incredibly … Continue reading A Duke by Any Other Name by Grace Burrowes→
Forever and a Duke by Grace Burrowes is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and features a heroine who’s good with numbers. Readers really liked her, but found there was too much plot and too many additional POVs. Have you read this one?

How to Ruin a Duke by Grace Burrowes and Theresa Romain is 99c! This is a duo of historical romance novellas that features artists of some sort (musicians and writers). The book, in total, is less than 300 pages, so it’s a decent candidate for a quick read!
