Loved HOW YOU GET THE GIRL! Characters from the earlier books appear, but it worked for me as a standalone. I really wanted a sapphic March Madness/WNBA read and this scratched that itch. Excellent chronic illness (migraine) and gray ace rep. Mildly angsty, slow burn, very hot in the end imo.

Ummm much as I am fascinated by the premise of the book I am a little concerned about the editing of The Night Tiger, how can a step-brother ever become an erstwhile step-brother?
The Night Tiger is beautiful, but has some technically incest, depending on how you view the relationship between the main characters, which will be a hard pass and deal breaker for some readers.
@Jazzlet I suppose a step-brother could become an erstwhile step-brother by divorce? I don’t know if that’s what’s meant, tho.
I have THE GHOST BRIDE but haven’t read it yet.

THE EXCITEMENTS by CJ Wray is $1.99 at Amazon US today. I squeed about this book in WAYR part 2 for May and it will be one of my top ten reads for 2024. Highly recommended if you like older characters, WWII spies, twisty, historical backstories and never knowing what comes next.

4.5 stars. A- Emotionally satisfying Sapphic romance between two 30-somethings trying to figure out life and love. I loved the characters and romance, although I got restless a couple times in the book – not sure if it was a me issue or a pacing problem. I also loved the “demi / ace / gray-ace / don’t know what the hell flavor of queer I am” rep and the depression rep.
Wonderful conclusion to the Love and Other Disasters series. It works as a standalone, but the cameos of characters from the first two books are fun.
