492. Squeeing About Fandoms and Feels with Olivia Dade

All the Feels
A | BN | K
My guest this week is Olivia Dade! We had such a good time talking about fan supercuts, watching shows through gifsets, Game of Thrones spoilers, writing characters with ADHD and learning disabilities.

Highlight: we discover a vintage ship we have in common and we exclaim at each other.

Thank you to Rachel, Alanna, and Kelly from the Patreon community!

And if you’re thinking, Oh, wait, what is this about a complete list of Grissom/Sidle moments? Here’s a message from Olivia:

If you look under “gsr shipper’s guides to the galaxy” on this page, the creator broke things down by season, so just choose one to see their analysis of the Sara Sidle-Gil Grissom content in every episode: https://addictedtostorytelling.tumblr.com/c.s.i._meta.”

  1. Alanna says:

My #1 vintage ships before I knew what shipping were both from Animorphs: Jake/Cassie and Rachel/Tobias. They were both canon and both brilliant… And I just ignore the existence of the end of the series and live in my happy world where they got to rest together and finally have regular non-life-threatening date nights.

  2. Kareni says:

That was definitely enjoyable! Thank you for a fun interview, Sarah and Olivia.

  3. Crystal F. says:

Got my booster this past Thursday. That, and a medical issue has been keeping me in bed. So I got out of cleaning the house, and ALL I’ve been doing this weekend is binging Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. (And shipping them HARD.) It’s tapped into all of my old school Sailor Moon/Tuxedo Mask – Usagi/Mamoru feels.

I regret nothing. (And I’m sure there is a WHOLE treasure trove of fan fic out there just waiting for me. lol)

  4. Lin says:

Two of my favorite ships are Scotty and Kevin from Brothers and Sisters, and Ian and Mickey from the US version of Shameless. I’ve watched the YouTube cuts of these ships, god, countless times.

  5. SB Sarah says:

@Lin: YouTube supercuts are my new favorite thing for every ship I’ve ever sailed in my life. They’re so great, aren’t they?

  6. Amy says:

That may have been my favorite episode yet! I was very invested in Max/Liz from Roswell. As for GoT I only ever watched a few episodes, but as far as I’m concerned the books end with Danerys and John Snow, each with a dragon, bringing peace to the kingdom and Sam becoming a professor amongst the maesters and living a quiet life far away from bullies.
