HaBO: Viking Hero Saves Her from a Boat

This HaBO is from Maria, who wants to find this romance:

The book is a historical romance book with vikings. it’s an older book, probably published before 2000, but I don’t know the exact year. The hero doesn’t want to be in a relationship and is forced into one. He’s reluctant and heroine does’t speak his mother language (she calls him by a weird nickname). She’s feisty and reluctant too. Towards the end of the book, there’s a scene on a boat/ship where he goes to save her and she cries for help and they finally get together.

Can we HaBO?

This is more than likely NOT the HABO, but I thought I’d toss it out there. I was thinking I’d read the requested book but when I went back through ALL my lists, this is the book I’m thinking of. THE WARLORD’S WIFE by Sandra Lake. Here’s the GOODREAD’S LINK. Clicking will open in a new tab.

We also have a review of the book Silver mentioned, which might have more distinct info.

  3. Veronica says:

This also has some similarities to points in the third book of Sandra Lake’s series, The Northman’s Bride. Hero is reluctant to marry, but I think they do speak most of the same languages. Heroine in book 3 is definitely as feisty as heroine from book 1. He definitely saves her in a couple of major scenes, but neither is directly on a boat.

  4. Denise says:

Could it be Beautiful Wreck by Larissa Brown. It sounds a little like it. He saves her from drowning in the beginning.

Reminds me of an older Michelle Willingham book, possibly one of the books in the Forbidden Vikings series.
