Links: Terry Pratchett, Bonsai, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Welcome back to Wednesday Links!

I enjoyed the long weekend in the States and got some great reading done. I posted up on the couch with my wonderful electric blanket while it snowed outside. I can’t remember the last time I did that. I’m sure I was also motivated by the fact that Final Fantasy XIV servers were down for an entire 24-hours and I needed to fill my time somehow.

Did any of you have a productive weekend or take part in any marathon reading?

Apparently you can rent a room or two in a house that was once owned by Jane Austen’s brother. The gardens and exterior look absolutely beautiful!

Thanks to EC Spurlock for sending us this link of bonsai treehouse dioramas. They’re very Ghibli-esque!

Big thank you to everyone who let us know about the Terry Pratchett Humble Bundle sale! $18 gets you 39 books!

Did you know the creator of Steamy Lit Con is also opening a romance bookstore? A grand opening will be hosted next month in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

This link was posted in the SBTB Patreon Discord by SarBear, who said, “Loved the discussion of how writing romance was not as easy as expected!”

As part of Science Friday, Dr. Carlotta Berry talks about writing romance novels that feature Black women in science.

Sarah: I have two links to share!

February is Black History Month, and one of my favorite series is starting up again: 28 Days of Black History, a daily curated exhibit of artifacts from The Anti-Racism Daily. It’s like having a museum exhibit emailed to you each day and every year I love reading it.

And! Speaking of Email!

Free and discounted romance ebooks emailed to you daily! sign up now! A blue background with white text and an illustration of a woman with blue hair and red sunglasses reading a red book. There are six romances shown below her

Red Feather Romance has a special sign-up link should you wish to receive a daily collection of free and discounted romance ebooks.

The genres and tropes can be customized to your tastes, and the email newsletter is free, cheezy bread, free!

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I hope I haven’t recommended this YouTube channel before.

Interested in archery in the fantasy/D and D sense and/or real sense?
    Interested in pole dancing? (really!)

    I recommend blumineck on YouTube.
    https://www.youtube.com/@blumineck

He breaks down why some archery tricks in books and movies wouldn’t work in real life, offers D&D references visuals and shows off his poledancing skills. I watch respectfully. (mostly). People who like the lean runner/swimmer body type will know what I mean. . .

A lot of his videos are short and breezy, but there was one where someone complained that he looked sexier in a dress than they did and in response he talked about how important it is to find 1) clothes you like and feel comfortable in 2) get passionate about things you enjoy and find your people who get you 3) that will give you a confidence that people will find attractive.

    It was really sweet.
