Congratulations to all the winners!
Have you listened to any of the books listed? What were your favorite audiobooks this year?
I don’t listen to audiobooks, but both 10 THINGS THAT NEVER HAPPENED and ROLE PLAYING are on my list of favorite reads of 2023. Highly recommended in whatever form you choose to get the stories into your brain.
I enjoyed Love, Theoretically (and all three books in the series but this one might be my favorite). I really liked all three of the heroes in the series.
@DDD 10 Things That Never Happened is one where I ABSOLUTELY recommend the Audiobook – as a USian it really helps to get into a book when a regional accent is important to the rhythms of the text.
Today is the last day of Audible’s site wide sale on audiobooks, so I’ll definitely be checking out ROLE PLAY since it’s only $4.21!!
A Rake of His Own was fantastic and everyone should read and/or listen to it (along with the whole Stariel series, which is great and will make you all the happier that Marius and Rake got their own story).
I tried to listen to 10 Things That Never hHppened, but gave up and decided to read the book instead. I had to struggle too hard to understand what the narrator was saying. If you were planning to buy this book, I recommend you listen to a sample first.
@WhimsicalCow oh wow, I read the title, but it didn’t even click (apparently I need to see the cover to register what book we’re talking about)! As I commented above, I listened to one of the other audiobooks on the list, but I read this one and just want to second your comment that the Stariel series is so good!
Loved the audio of “10 things” so much that I’ve been relistening to it as a comfort read. The accent work makes it so great. And Alexis Hall’s sense of humor just slaps.
Some of my favorite audiobooks this year were anything written by Jay Hogan and narrated by Gary Furlong. She has a few interrelated m/m series set in New Zealand, and they are all emotionally compelling and feature well-drawn characters, imo.
