Small Town Romance, a Paranormal, & More

  • Lush Money

    Lush Money by Angelina Lopez

Lush Money by Angelina M. Lopez is $2.99! This one has a new cover and let me rant for a second. I hate when new covers result in new ISBNs because that then results in a whole lot of broken links that I have to fix. /endrant. ANYWAY! I gave this one a B-:

The angst is high. The sex is hot. It should be high on your TBR pile if you’re in the mood for an emotional rollercoaster with flipped tropes.

A marriage of convenience and three nights a month.

That’s all the sultry, self-made billionaire wants from the impoverished prince.

And at the end of the year, she’ll grant him his divorce…with a settlement large enough to save his beloved kingdom.

As a Latinx woman, Roxanne Medina has conquered small-town bullies, Ivy League snobs and boardrooms full of men. She’s earned the right to mother a princess and feel a little less lonely at the top. The offer she’s made is more than generous, and when the contract’s fulfilled, they’ll both walk away with everything they’ve ever wanted.

Príncipe Mateo Ferdinand Juan Carlos de Esperanza y Santos is one of the top winegrowers in the world, and he’s not marrying and having a baby with a stranger. Even if the millions she’s offering could save his once-legendary wine-producing principality.

But the successful, single-minded beauty uses a weapon prince Mateo hadn’t counted on: his own desire.

  • The Wolf at the Door

The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara

The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara is $2.99! This is a m/m paranormal romance and was recommended by Aarya in our Underrated Authors & Romances Rec League. Though this one wasn’t Aarya’s favorite in the series, she still really liked this one.

A former FBI agent is partnered with the enemy in this suspenseful male/male shifter romance from debut author Charlie Adhara

Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Dayton’s plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park.

Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Cooper’s concerned, it’s failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything they’ve seen, every bone in Cooper’s body is suspicious of his new partner—even when Park proves himself as competent as he is utterly captivating.

When more people vanish, pressure to solve the case skyrockets. And though he’d resolved to keep things professional, Cooper’s friction with Park soon erupts…into a physical need that can’t be contained or controlled. But with a body count that’s rising by the day, werewolves and humans are in equal danger. If Cooper and Park don’t catch the killer soon, one—or both—of them could be the next to go.

  • A Match Made on Main Street

A Match Made on Main Street by Olivia Miles

A Match Made on Main Street by Olivia Miles is $1.99! This is a second chance small town romance. If you’re into reading about foodie, chef-type characters, this might be a book for you! Though many readers loved the second chance romance aspect, a few felt that it lacked chemistry. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.

This kitchen isn’t big enough for both of them…

If there’s anything Anna Madison knows, it’s how to turn life’s lemons into a lemonade cocktail served in a vintage glass. So when her beloved Briar Creek café burns down, she sees it as an opportunity to start fresh. But the only kitchen available to her is in the diner down the street—owned by her sinfully sexy ex.

If Anna thinks she can take over his greasy-spoon kitchen with her high-end cuisine, Mark Hastings is about to set her straight fast. Their breakup is his biggest regret—not that he’ll ever admit it to her. Nope, he’d rather show her exactly what she’s been missing. With desire set on a high simmer, their menu is about to get a whole lot spicier…

  • American Dreamer

    American Dreamer by Adriana Herrera

American Dreamer by Adriana Herrera is $1.99! Sarah read this one and gave it a B:

This was a truly delicious, delectable, emotional story with resonance and heart and so much food, it might as well have its own stomach because yours shouldn’t be growling alone.

No one ever said big dreams come easy

For Nesto Vasquez, moving his Afro-Caribbean food truck from New York City to the wilds of Upstate New York is a huge gamble. If it works? He’ll be a big fish in a little pond. If it doesn’t? He’ll have to give up the hustle and return to the day job he hates. He’s got six months to make it happen—the last thing he needs is a distraction.

Jude Fuller is proud of the life he’s built on the banks of Cayuga Lake. He has a job he loves and good friends. It’s safe. It’s quiet. And it’s damn lonely. Until he tries Ithaca’s most-talked-about new lunch spot and works up the courage to flirt with the handsome owner. Soon he can’t get enough—of Nesto’s food orof Nesto. For the first time in his life, Jude can finally taste the kind of happiness that’s always been just out of reach.

An opportunity too good to pass up could mean a way to stay together and an incredible future for them both…if Nesto can remember happiness isn’t always measured by business success. And if Jude can overcome his past and trust his man will never let him down.

Buy the Adhara!! This is one of my favorite series, it has to be read in order and this is the first one. I did not know I was into werewolves till this one but if you’re not into the whole fated mates thing this one is so good, and the characters are endearing and at times hilarious.

  2. Emily C says:

One of the books on KDD today is The Mermaid from Jeju by Sumi Hahn. This was one of the books rec’d in Get Rec’d with Amanda (one of my favorite new features btw) for historical fiction outside the UK or the US.
It’s set in Korea after WWII and the heroine is a haenyeo, a female diver. I just started it on my lunch break and the prose is as melodical, wistful and magical as the reviews say.

  3. MaryK says:

Two thumbs up for The Wolf at the Door. I could probably write an essay about this book. The blurb really doesn’t do it justice.

  4. Carrie G says:

I loved Wolf at the Door and the entire series! It definitely needs to read in order,so start here! This book is good and the series only gets better.

I also loved American Dreamer and highly recommend it. I’ve gone on to listen to all of the books except the last one on audio and they are wonderful. If you’re an audiobook lover, Sean Crisden does an amazing job with all the accents and characters. I found them available on Hoopla at my local library.

  6. Christine says:

Another recommendation for THE WOLF AT THE DOOR. I liked books three and four in the series best, but the whole thing was a lot of fun and you definitely need to read them in order.

  7. Allison R-B says:

Re: new covers. The American Dreamer cover has been redesigned, too. I miss Thick Nesto! Oh well. It’s a delightful read, so check it out!

  8. JudyW says:

Another vote for the Charlie Adhara book “The Wolf at the Door”. I loved this series so much.

  9. Lilly says:

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory is $1.99 on Kindle today.

  10. Kit says:

I loved the sample I read of The Wolf At The Door but sadly it’s never been reduced in the UK and at over £7 is rather pricey.

  11. Sydneysider says:

A Match Made on Main Street was OK. Lots of delicious food, but the hero needed to grovel more. It’s very readable but be warned that the hero is something of a jerk in parts.
