  1. Elizabeth says:

Murderbot! Plus I just love Cover Snark to find bad books 🙂

  2. Laura says:

Emily Henry’s Beach Read. This was the fifth contemporary romance I’ve read in my life (seriously) and I enjoyed it so much I no longer skip over the contemporaries and scroll past looking for clutch covers featuring ladies in period gowns.

  3. Gloriamarie Amalfitano says:

Which one book I most loved that I discovered here? Where to even begin? I am going to go with an author I had never heard of and whose work I love: Naomi Novik. Learned of her right here on SBTB

  4. Terri says:

Not a specific book, but this website introduced me to Courtney Milan and Sarah Morgan, and I have thoroughly enjoyed their books over the years. Thank you!

  5. Darlynne says:

It might be easier to identify a book I *didn’t* learn about here. Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf series. Thank you on all counts.

  6. JoannaM says:

I heard about “Song of the Forever Rains” by E.J. Mellow and really liked it. I am excited to read the second one in the series!

  7. AuntieKristin says:

    Murderbot.

  8. Maddy Silva says:

So many great reccs! Most recently as a Fall read I bought Once Upon a Highland Autumn from here ❤

  9. Laurel says:

    Definitely Murderbot!

  10. Tina says:

Oh Lort. Definitely The Madness of Life Ian Mackenzie back in the day.

  11. TinaNoir says:

Back in the day but it was SBTB’s review of Kristan Higgins’ Catch of The Day — her first book I believe that introduced me to her.

  12. Queen Victoria says:

A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh. It was a very beautifully written thriller!

  13. TaylorP says:

First learned of Mariana Zapata here. I’ve enjoyed all of her books.

  14. KarenF says:

I’ve pretty much found all of my favorite authors through this site: Julie James, Lucy Parker, Kate Clayborn, just to name a few.

This year… let’s go with Farah Heron’s Accidentally Engaged.”

  15. Stacey Freedman says:

So hard to decide! I will say actually the book list of Hanukkah romances. They are so hard to find! (And I think I discovered Rose Lerner here, which ties in, since she has Jewish characters in historicals, which is also very hard to find! Happy Hanukkah!

  16. Trix says:

That Kind of Guy by Talia Hibbert

  17. Y says:

Thank you to SBTB for so many great recommendations! Diana Biller and T. Kingfisher were particularly delightful finds.

  18. Charlie says:

The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning was so good!

  19. Nena C says:

I discovered and loved KJ Charles’ A Seditious Affair and now I am a very loyal KJ Charles fan.

  20. Stefanie says:

I was introduced to Courtney Milan by SBTB! Also Ice Planet Barbarians ;D

  21. Melissandre says:

Man, I don’t know that I can figure out exactly which book I have most loved. But I THINK I discovered The Night Circus on this website, and I deeply love that book.

  22. Susan says:

So many (!), but two series come to mind immediately: PsyChangling (Singh) and Liaden (Lee/Miller).

Actually, it was another chatter that started me on my Liaden journey. I had been interested in dipping my toe in the water, but was overwhelmed by the number of volumes and the reading order. Kindly chatter recommended starting with the Theo Waitley books. I never would have thought of jumping in there, but it was a terrific recommendation. I truly regret that I can’t remember who it was so I could thank them. I’ll have to make do with good wishes going out thru the ether to them.

  23. Barbara says:

The Murderbot series and Lucy Parker.

    Love that cranberry color.

  24. susan says:

There have been too many books over the years!

  25. Jenny Sessions says:

Susan Elizabeth Phillips and her Chicago Stars series. I would never have tried football romances, and I would have been missing out, especially with Anna Fields’ audiobook narration.

  26. Maureen Long says:

Spoiler Alert and All the Feels by Olivia Dade.
A Christmas Gone Perfectly Wrong by Cecilia Grant.
    Happy Hanukkah, b*tches!

  27. fairywine says:

The Brother Cadfael series, which are just pure warmth and comfort. I’ve absolutely devoured them.

  28. RuthL says:

So many books over the years. One of my favorites is Tessa Dare’s The Duchess Deal.

  29. Cathy Jewell says:

Big Bad Wolf by Suleikha Snyder–I never would have found this book if I hadn’t seen it here!

  30. Megan says:

The Companion, by E.E. Ottoman, was wonderful

  31. Maureen says:

I’m not going to pick one book, but what SBTB has done is opened up my world of reading! For a long time I was reading only historical fiction, like Phillipa Gregory or Elizabeth Chadwick. No contemporaries, and although there was some romance in the historicals, I wouldn’t say they are Romance books. Anyway, this site reconnected me with my love of romance novels, and broadened my horizons. I’ve learned never to judge a book by it’s title, and commenters like @DDD have pointed me in the direction of authors I now love. Kate Canterbary, Rachel Reid, I’m now reading through Claire Kingsley’s series Bootleg Springs. So many other great recs from the posts and the commenters-I know to have pen and paper handy to take notes when reading SBTB!

  32. TamB. says:

The Wrexford &Sloane mystery series by Andrea Penrose. I went looking for more mysteries and went back through SBTB posts and comments for ideas. This series was a definite keeper.

  33. Barbara Bibel says:

None. I do not read romances.

  34. Sara Therrien says:

Battle Royal by Lucy Parker was one of the many books from sbtb’s recs this year that I enjoyed! I love finding such cool recommendations and reviews on all kinds of books! It makes my reading life that much better

  35. Veronica says:

The most recent was The Heiress Gets a Duke. So good!

  36. Michelle Orloff says:

Happy Hanukkah! Rosie Danan’s The Intimacy Experiment!

  37. Kaitlin says:

It is impossible to name just one, since so many of my favorite authors and books have been discovered through this site. Some of my favorites are Courtney Milan, Talia Hibbert, Alyssa Cole, and Ilona Andrews.

  38. Julie says:

The site led me to the entire Mariana Zapata library, & I’m eternally grateful!

  39. Kyle M says:

The Flatshare, by Beth O’Leary; and Red, White and Royal Blue, by Casey McQuiston!

Flatshare spoke to my heart, and Red, White and Royal Blue launched me into the realm of LGBTQ+ romance, and I love these books dearly both for themselves and also for being crucial parts of my journey into embracing and championing the romance genre.

  40. HeatherS says:

So many over the years – Lord of Scoundrels, Bet Me, The Winter Sea, Murderbot, The Queen of Blood.
