Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Welcome back!

If you’re in the states, I hope you had a lovely long weekend. I went to my friend’s childhood beach. It wasn’t exactly beach weather in New England, but we still had a fun time! Windy beach walks, kite flying, and a couple rounds of a Bananagrams with Whiteclaws.

Also, it’s June!

Sarah and I play Jackbox games on Twitch (though we’re taking June off!) and in a game of Fibbage, we learned there’s a French town that dresses their donkeys in pajamas. THE MORE YOU KNOW!

Uh, I’m sorry. How did I not know there was a Romancing the Stone-esque movie in production starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatutm?

I’m hosting several bookstore events that you may want to attend! Two of the titles were featured in yesterday’s Hide Your Wallet:

Friday, June 4 at 7pm: PC & Kristin Cast with Romina Garber (YA fantasy)

Tuesday, June 8 at 7pm: Suzanne Park with Loan Le (YA contemporary romance)

Wednesday, June 8 at 7pm: Nekesa Afia with Denny S. Bryce (Historical mystery/fiction)

I don’t think the article is free to read anymore, but if you have a Telegraph subscription, you can read all about China’s kitty models and influencers. There are some excerpts and photos in the Twitter thread.

Buzz Books 2021: Romance is out! This is a free sampler that contains excerpts of upcoming romance titles. It looks like it’s mostly a mix of contemporary and paranormal this year.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

Are there enough romances with cover model heroes (or heroines) to justify a Rec League? Off the top of my head, the only one I can think of is Kennedy Fox’s FALLING FOR THE PLAYBOY, but I’m sure there must be others.

  3. Emily C says:

That movie is all of my catnip and the only bad thing I can find about it is that it won’t be out until 2022.
The best thing about it?… Sandra Bullock is 56, and continues to be funny and sexy as hell as a romantic lead with an actor 15 years her junior. She’s an icon

  4. Stefanie Magura says:

Speaking of the Rec League, has it been retired or put on hiatus? I haven’t seen any posts lately.

I am so excited for this movie!

My other excitement this week is the publication of Gayle Forman’s new book, We Are Inevitable, which I wouldn’t call a romance, but which IS a warmhearted, often hilarious and very moving love letter to independent bookstores and coping with grief and loss. It’s SO GOOD. (Full disclosure, she is my friend, but I don’t trumpet all her books; this is one of my faves.)

Donkeys in pajamas and kitty cat models, the cuteness I needed today

OMG that movie is a must-see. We just watched ‘Romancing the Stone’ again and it had not occurred to me to think ‘hmm if there was an update, who should it star,’ but OBVIOUSLY Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum!!

I love “Romancing the Stone” and was thrilled when I found the novel by Joan Wilder (Catherine Lanigan)
