Hello, 2021! How are we all feeling about the new year? Hopeful? Hesitant? A little of both?
Thanks for sticking around. We have so much cool stuff planned for the year, and our site anniversary is coming up. You know what that means: more giveaways!
Stay tuned for that this month!

We may have featured this already, but oh well! If you love white noise, you can create your own Irish coast. You can customize the level of wind, rain, and waves. For white noise, I love water sounds, especially if thunder is involved.

Studio Ghibli has released a ton of hi-res images that are free to use! I’ll probably grab some for wallpaper purposes on my phone or computer.

Podcast launch news! One of our reviewers, Tara, is starting a bookish podcast with author Kris Bryant:
Tara: Every other week, I’ll be joined by my co-host Kris Bryant, who’s an f/f romance author. We’ll be sharing queer book, tv, movie and game recommendations, and generally getting silly and enthusiastic along the way.

Want to know what’s next for author Tamsyn Muir? Well, lesbian cyberpunk gunslingers, of course!

This thread had me cry-laughing in the middle of the night. Enjoy this saga of one man’s quest to air fry a hot dog for two hours:

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
Sarah & everyone else in the DC area, please stay safe. This is a nightmare!
@DDD – seconded. <3 to everyone
Thirded. Be safe.
Love and hugs and chocolate and booze as necessary! <3
Agreed with all above. Please stay safe.
Hope you and your family are well, Sarah. Take care
I wanted to share that my grandson bought me a Nora Roberts paperback for Christmas. He noticed that I read her books, found one he hadn’t seen in the house, looked at it, read a couple pages and thought it was interesting. He says he might read it, too, when I am done.
And are we proud of Stacey Abrams or what!
Best wishes to DC, and congratulations to Georgia.
I love the noise machines at MyNoise! My personal favourite is the test time one that I tweaked to its Library setting, because I missed the public library so much during lockdown and was having trouble focusing on my reading. Although I found that to get the real feel of a public library soundscape, I needed to open librivox in another tab and have one of their children’s audiobooks playing at very low volume so it sounded like there was storytime happening in the children’s corner.
