I’m wondering if you could help me with this because I’ve had no luck for months!!!
I’ve read this over 10 years ago and so the details are a little fuzzy. It’s a historical romance novel (Julie Garwood-style but I don’t think that’s the author). I’m 95% sure it was set in the Highlands.
I only remember that at the very beginning, the two main characters met when she was a child and he was like a teenager (it might have been a festival) and she was being really bratty and he ended up spanking her in front of everyone (friends/family). I want to say that their fathers were friends and that she had tracked mud into the tent/grand hall or something.
It sounds weird but I remember getting a huge laugh out of it and that’s all I can remember.
Who knows this one?

Kingdom of Dreams does have a public spanking in a tent near the beginning, but their families definitely weren’t on friendly terms and they didn’t meet when she was a child. (From what I remember of reading it last year anyway.)
