Friday Videos Love Canine Lullabyes

The lullabye du jour in my house is still O Canada but thanks to Anonymous, we have a video of a man whose lullabye is so quiet I can barely make it out. Doesn’t matter: it’s wildly successful. And it makes me want to adopt a puppy. Don’t tell Hubby.

OMG. they so need to send this to America’s Funniest. How could they not win??

What a great way to start a shitty Friday- it’s not totally shitty since the boss takes Friday’s off. Who woulda thunk I would grow to hate working at the bookstore.

  2. Lisa says:

awwwwwwwww …. that is adorable, thanks for sharing.

He’s singing Goodnight sweetheart … the old song that used to end the Sha Na Na show (am I showing my age??)

  3. eaeaea says:

    Too cute for words…Pavlov’s Puppies.

  8. fiveandfour says:

D’awww.  Boxers make the best dogs, too.  (And now I want another one!)

  9. With the chorus, I’m going AAWWWWWW.

This planet needs more men like him. Where are the cloning machines?!

  10. Sarah Frantz says:

Re: lullabies.  Ours is “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess for some reason I’ve never been able to figure out.

    And very cute vid!

  11. azteclady says:

    That’s amazingly sweet! I want one! 😀

  12. KimberlyD says:

The video does not work for me 🙁

  13. OMG!  He is the Dog Whisperer!

  14. Cat Marsters says:

So cute it makes my teeth hurt.  That’s the song they sing as a lullaby in Three Men And A Baby, too.

Almost makes you forget what demonic, smelly, house-destroying creatures puppies are.  Cute?  Yes.  Evil?  Yes.

(You can tell I have a Demon Puppy, can’t you?  Cats are waaay easier).

  15. Esri Rose says:

I tell you, that man has a gift.

  16. Ocy says:

Think he’d be willing to come to my house and sing to my kids?

  17. SonomaLass says:

I love dogs, but I can’t do puppies.  Love ‘em, they are SO cute, but just too much work for me.  Grown-up dogs in my house, along with the cats who are really in charge.

Three Men and a Baby, that’s what it was!  Once I figured out what he was singing, I was trying to recall where I’d heard it as a lullaby before.  May be time to watch that film again.

  18. amy lane says:

That was AWESOME.  My kids have each had a different lullaby—Sarah MacLoughlin’s ‘The Ice-Cream Song’, Joni Mitchell’s ‘Clouds’, John Denver’s ‘Sunshine’ (which was a horrible mistake on my part, trust me) and ‘Sweet Dreams’ by Patsy Kline—and that’s been the ‘it’ song.  When mom sings that song to that kid, that’s it!  Any attempts to get out of bed after that will be met with hostility, bitching and a terrible threats to their person.  (And the occasional spanking.)  But none of them have ever worked that well.  (Maybe because I can’t sing for shit.)

Mine was always You Are My Sunshine. Still my fave.

  21. loonigrrl says:

That was so cute! But . . . yeah, cats are so much easier.

  22. platedlizard says:

I first saw this over at cute overload, but it’s worth a second (or fifth, or 100th *shifty eyes*) look. And I want to know where I can find a guy like that.

  23. Bean says:

First the Dog Whisperer and now the Dog Warbler.  Very sweet.

  24. shannon says:
