RECOMMENDED: Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert is $1.99! Kiki really loved this one and gave it an A:
Get a Life, Chloe Brown saw my expectations’ proffered hand and kissed it gently, and then proceeded to charm their pants off. In a tent. With s’mores. (Not with s’mores, because s’mores apparently are not a thing in the UK.) This metaphor got away from me, but you get the idea. This book is outstanding.

Just in time for Halloween, here is a historical horror romance in which a woman builds her own boyfriend out of an assemblage of attractive parts, a deed that I do not endorse. This is a strange, off-beat book that won’t please everyone, but once I settled into it I quite enjoyed this funny romance, in which Dr. Frankenstein’s sister builds a boyfriend and learns a little something about basic ethics and empathy in a … Continue reading Angelika Frankenstein Makes Her Match by Sally Thorne →

RECOMMENDED: The Silence of Bones by June Hur is $2.99! Ellen reviewed this one in September and gave it an A:
I thought this book was amazing. I loved the prose, the characters, the mystery, and the setting. From a craft perspective I found this book masterful, and it took me on an intense emotional journey. I think this is a literal must-read for historical mystery fans provided they do not mind some violence.

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne is $1.99! Elyse gave this one a B+:
The theme of slowly exiting your safe space when the time was right was so timely and on point for me. It was because Teddy was so kind and gentle with Ruthie in her journey to come out of her shell, and appreciative of who she was without wanting her to change (but supporting her desire to) that this book worked. When Teddy and Ruthie begin to fall for each other, it made total sense.
