Love in Color by Bolu Babalola is $1.99! This was a previous Hide Your Wallet mention and is a collection of short romances that reimagine myths and folklore. Have you picked this one up? One of my friends says it’s a quick read.
Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks is $1.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. This is a historical romance with (you guessed it) a Scottish hero! The heroine is deaf and in an arranged marriage. Some readers thought the conflict was resolved rather easily, but many loved the romance between the hero and heroine. It has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads.

If you read and loved Code Name Verity this is a book for you. I said a couple of years ago that I expected a lot of World War I stories to come out of this centennial, and I’m pretty pleased to have been right. There are a lot of really interesting stories emerging. I’m also really interested (for various reasons) in how people deal with the PTSD that come out of traumatic periods in history, and this story is a deeply layered exploration of just that.
The Chase by Elle Kennedy is 99c! This is the first book in the new adult Briar U contemporary romance series. This technically a spin-off of the Off-Campus series and features secondary characters getting their own HEAs, but you don’t have to read the previous series for this. Have you read this one?
One and Only by Jenny Holiday is $2.99! This is the first book in the Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series. I found the book to be pretty cute and the heroine is an adorable nerd. However, the heroine is described as being a little unhappy with her weight and trying to lose some before her friend’s wedding. Be warned if you’re sensitive to food issues, dieting, etc.
RECOMMENDED: Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt is $1.99! I listened to this on audio after Elyse’s great review and loved it. I’ve since listened to the next two Maiden Lane books on audio as well. Elyse really enjoyed this book and gave it an A-:
Serial killer. And Ghost of St. Giles vigilante. And river pirate. And bondage.
If any or all of those things appeal to you, I’d really recommend this book. If you’re looking for a spicy historical, or one not focused around the glittering aristocracy, Wicked Intentions fits the bill. Aside from a few ball scenes, this book takes place among the working class of London.
