HaBO: The Earth Envelopes Her to Heal Her

This HaBO comes from Anonymous, who wants to find this romance:

I’m trying to find a fantasy romance book.

There’s a scene where the heroine is close to death, but the hero takes her outside and places her on the ground. The earth like envelops her in vines and heals her.

I know this is super vague but it’s driving me crazy.

This sounds very familiar to me, but I can’t place it! Help!

  1. Liz says:

Is it one of the Innkeeper books by Ilona Andrews?

  2. Kareni says:

This might be a scene from one of Sharon Shinn’s Elementals series.

  3. Kareni says:

Me again. It would likely be in Unquiet Land.

  4. ES says:

Hi it’s anon. I don’t think that I’ve ever read the Elementals series. It might be the Innkeeper’s but for some reason I’m thinking it’s something else. I think the hero is crying in the scene, really trying to remember more details.

  5. Maeve says:

    Two possibilities:

    1) In Faith Hunter’s Soulwood series, Nell does some healing this way

    2) Could this be one of Christine Feehan Dark books? I vaguely remember the vampires sleep/heal in the ground

  6. Mary Beth says:

This sounds like a Jeffe Kennedy book . . . can’t remember the title though.

  7. SaraGale says:

The first book of the Innkeeper Chronicles, CLEAN SWEEP, by Ilona Andrews, has a scene when Dina, the FMC, is off her property and over uses her power to the point she’s close to death. The MMC brings her back to the property and her Inn wraps her in vines and roots, taking her to the heart of the Inn, giving her life and strength allowing her to recover.

  8. Jeannette says:

Could this be a Viola Grace book? There are several where plants/vines help with healing. Though I would classify hers as more ‘Sci-Fi’ than Fantasy romance.

  9. Maria F says:

I think Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series has a book in which this happens. The FMC is a witch. Maybe Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night?
