You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!
This HaBO comes from Christine, who wants to locate this romance:
I remember in the early 90s reading a time travel romance, in which the heroine goes back to the Old West. She meets up with Jesse James’ James-Younger gang and falls in love with one of its members, Clell Miller (who was an actual person).
This is all I remember but as Clell Miller did exist, I thought it would be easier to find. It hasn’t been.
Can we HaBO?
Sounds intriguing. I hope someone has a line on this one!

I tried different keywords and turned up MY OUTLAW by Rachel Davis. It’s from 1997 and I can’t tell if it’s a time travel romance, but it’s definitely a historical romance with Clell Miller.

GR doesn’t have the full back cover copy, but you can read it in one of the photos from this eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115977142403? Christine, maybe that’ll help you tell if this is the right book?
It sounds a little like “When Lightning Strikes” by Kristen Hannah. It’s been years since I read–I think in the 90s when it was published. But it’s a time travel romance, and heroine falls in love with a bank robber in the Old West named Killian.
It is My Outlaw by Rachel Davis!!! Thank you so much. OMG! I work at a library and have worked reference for years. I couldn’t find this one for the life of me. I have a great used book store by me and will keep an eye out for it as it doesn’t look like amazon has it for purchase.
I LOVE a Solved HaBO! And wow, check out the majestic mullet AND mustache on that cover model. Woo!
It doesn’t look like it was a time travel romance but the name I remembered was Clell Miller. One of my favorite movies is The Long Riders and Randy Quaid played him. So when I read this, I really had to put that image out of my mind!
Ah, yes, the 90s mullet!
I took a chance at my used bookstore as I couldn’t find the book online for purchase and they had two copies!! Of course I bought it! Thank you again. I went from clueless to having it!
