Forget Me Not
Forget Met Not by Julie Soto is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance debut and I mentioned this one on a previous Hide Your Wallet. I liked this one! The book does switch between past and current events to show more of the main couple’s previous history, but I understand it could be a jarring format for the reader.
An ambitious wedding planner must work with her grumpy florist ex, whose heart she broke, on the most high-profile wedding of her career, in this spicy and emotional romance from popular fanfic author Julie Soto.
He loves me; he loves me not…
Ama Torres loves being a wedding planner. But with a mother who has been married more times than you can count on your fingers, Ama has decided that marriage is not the route for her. But weddings? Weddings are amazing. As a small business owner, she knows how to match her clients with the perfect vendor to give them the wedding of their dreams. Well, almost perfect…
Elliot hates being a florist, most of the time. When his father left him the flower shop, he considered it a burden, but he’s stuck with it. Just like how he’s stuck with the way he proposed to Ama, his main collaborator and girlfriend (or was she?) two years ago. But flowers have grown on him, just like Ama did. And flowers can’t run off and never speak to him again, like Ama did.
When Ama is hired to plan a celebrity wedding that will bring her business national exposure, there’s a catch: Elliot is already contracted to design the flowers. Things are not helped by the two brides, who see the obvious chemistry between Ama and Elliot and are determined to set them up, not knowing their complicated history. Add in a meddling ex-boss, and a reality TV film crew documenting every step of the wedding prep, and Ama and Elliot’s hearts are not only in jeopardy again, but this time, their livelihoods are too.

The Night Circus
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is $1.99! This fantasy novel was everywhere when it came out and does seem to have romantic elements. While the setting captured readers’ attentions, some wished it had more emotional depth.
Two starcrossed magicians engage in a deadly game of cunning in The Night Circus, the spellbinding bestseller that has captured the world’s imagination.
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

The Do-Over
The Do-Over by Suzanne Park is $1.99! This is a second chance romance, though Goodreads reviews this feels more like fiction with strong romantic elements, or that the romance isn’t as strong as the main character’s journey. Have you read this one?
From the author of Loathe at First Sight and So We Meet Again, a fun rom-com about a young Korean-American woman having to return to college after discovering she’s a few credits shy of completing her degree—only to find one of her TAs is her old college boyfriend.
Lily Lee is a bestselling author of the How to Be a Supernova At Work series, and her editor wants her to strike while the iron’s hot with a new book, How to Land the Perfect Job. But when Lily is offered a coveted position at a top firm, the employer background check reveals she’s short a few college credits and never actually completed her degree. Unbelievably, her worst nightmare has come true.
Lily returns to her alma mater, reliving her senior year of college ten years later. She enrolls in classes, gets invited to frat parties, eats most of her meals with “dining dollars,” and to make things even more weird and chaotic, she discovers that her computer science TA is her old college boyfriend, Jake Cho.
As Lily and Jake reconnect, she sees that her ex has done well for himself: the handsome, charming grad student appears to have his life together while Lily’s so close to losing her dream job opportunity and her book deal.
Things aren’t so simple the second time around.
The Do-Over is a delightfully warm and hopeful story about second chances in love and life, and how the future we want may turn out far different than we imagined.

The Wolf at the Door
The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara is $2.99! This is a m/m paranormal romance and was recommended by Aarya in our Underrated Authors & Romances Rec League. Though this one wasn’t Aarya’s favorite in the series, she still really liked this one.
A former FBI agent is partnered with the enemy in this suspenseful male/male shifter romance from debut author Charlie Adhara
Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Dayton’s plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park.
Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Cooper’s concerned, it’s failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything they’ve seen, every bone in Cooper’s body is suspicious of his new partner—even when Park proves himself as competent as he is utterly captivating.
When more people vanish, pressure to solve the case skyrockets. And though he’d resolved to keep things professional, Cooper’s friction with Park soon erupts…into a physical need that can’t be contained or controlled. But with a body count that’s rising by the day, werewolves and humans are in equal danger. If Cooper and Park don’t catch the killer soon, one—or both—of them could be the next to go.

I really enjoyed Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf series and the 1st book of her new series Monster Hunt. I’d put BBW up there with Cordelia Kingsbridge’s Seven of Spades series and Ripley Hayes’ Daniel Owen Mysteries, with the bonus of wolf shifters. Cooper and Oliver both have a lot of baggage and there is a fair amount of violence and a decent level of steam so not for everyone but it’s one of my favorite m/m romance series’.
I am impatiently—and eagerly—waiting for Charlie Adhara to release more books for me to glom. (Maybe I should do a reread of the BBW series?)
Needless to say, I heartily recommend them!

Forget Me Not is $10.99 on Amazon.
I read THE NIGHT CIRCUS when it first came out and loved it. The main conceit is that the protagonists perform real magic, not the Wizard of Oz, Man Behind the Curtain sleight of hand we usually call magic. Despite the love story it is not a Romance, however, so be forewarned.
Forget Me Not was one of those “compulsively readable in the moment” books that fell apart as soon as I finished reading it and thought about it. One of my biggest critiques is that most of the romance was in the past, with very little in the present day timeline. That being said, it was an enjoyable read and I’d pick it up at that price if it weren’t for my book budget already being spent!
For audiobook people – Audible Plus members can get some excellent romances free this month. There are quite a few by Nalini Singh (Psy/Changeling, Rock Kiss series, and Archangel), Mary Balogh, Julia Quinn (Bridgertons), and others. I wasn’t taking advantage of this perk of membership until recently and have found some great listens and new-to-me authors.
I, personally, adore The Night Circus, but it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. So, if you pick it up and DNF don’t feel badly!
