Giveaway! Woohoo! After noticing the collective happy reading over here in SBTB HQ with recent mentions of Crazed by Edie Harris, and A Duchess in Name by Amanda Weaver, Carina asked if we’d like to give three of you the opportunity to Treat Yo Shelf.
No, seriously, they even made a graphic – how sweet is that?

ETA 22 January 2016: Congratulations! We have three winners, just in time for a weekend of reading time!
The winners are:
- Rhyanna DeTuathana
- Heather R
- Robyn
Thank you to everyone who entered, and thank you to Carina Press for the very fun giveaway. Happy reading, everyone!
A cozy blanket, my fuzzy slippers and a bag of mini Oreo’s, maybe a cup of tea to wash it down!
A mug of hot chocolate. When I have no where to go and snow is falling outside.
Usually I read in the evening under my cat. I may have tea beside me & a salty snack. The beverage may be a little more “adult” like Bird Dog Maple Whiskey.
Right now, I want some nice warm cocoa.
Lately I have been loving brandy in rooibos chai.
When I treat myself I like to curl up with a nice chai tea and a slice of banana bread.
What a fun giveaway! Usually I like to read my book while indulging in some chocolate. Sometimes though I crave something salty; in that case, some Cheese Crunchies from Trader Joe’s might hit the spot!
This time of year my beverage is almost always hot tea (lately peppermint). Munchies? Tonight it was some See’s dark chocolate but it usually depends on my mood. 🙂
Hot tea and scones
Tea and shortbread made in part with oats instead of white flour. And a cat on my lap.
coffee and chocolate chip cookies. timeless & delicious.
I love me some scones. Just reading about them in this post made me make a yummy sound. Sadly it’s the one thing I sorta suck at baking. Normally I’d just made them until I got better but I’d inhale even the mediocre ones if they’re in my house. So a chai tea latte, a scone (made by someone else), and a book is my perfect lazy Sunday.
Diet Dr. Pepper by day. Red wine by night. I’m not much of a snacker but popcorn or roasted cashews are my go-to.
Tea and a snuggly blanket are my book treats
I’m happy with a nice cup of coffee and some Oreos to dunk in it. It’s the breakfast of champions!
@JenM: I’m a grabby-hands fan of Oreos and milk, but I’ve never tried Oreos and coffee. INTRIGUING!
I’m all about the buttery popcorn and an ice-cold Diet Coke. Makes my Kindle screen a little greasy, but then again, it also makes the swiping a little easier. Thanks for another great context!
I love to nibble on fritos. I don’t know why, the salty crunchy works for me.
Probably tea and muffins, because I am a lazy baker and muffins are easier than scones. (Last week’s chocolate chip/tart cherry/walnut muffins deserve refinement…)
A cup of camomile tea and, on a cold day like today, a warm coverlet.
Ooh. Jameson’s. Definitely Jameson’s.
I do love my tea!!
Definitely some homemade nachos, with my cats & dog surrounding me on all sides.
Very fun! Since it’s winter, I’m mostly accompanying my reading with mugs of hot water–keeps me hydrated and warm 😉
White Chocolate Peppermint tea from Teavana (love it!).
Earl Grey, straight up, and pie or gingerbread.
Don’t usually eat/drink when reading; however, tea breaks are a must. Either a black tea with lemon & honey or a Chai with vanilla simple syrup.
Snacks are harder to describe as I’m generally a grazer and almost anything can appeal to me at any given time. Leftovers from last night’s dinner? Fair game. Roasted anything including chick peas, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, broccoli or asparagus? Yes, please. Olives, pretzels, potato chips? Definite yes. Hummus and veggies or yogurt if I’m feeling virtuous? Yes, again. Cold pizza? Hell to the yes and get out of my way or run over.
My weird eating tendencies aside, thank you and Carina Press for the giveaway.
A red blend and a couple of chocolate chip cookies.
Usually I’m en route on the bus & not eating when I get the bulk of my reading done, but when I do get to read at home, it’s hummus & salsa for me! I’m a fan of tortilla chips, but pretzels, crackers, or even bagel chips will work with it too…& the hummus is fairly filling, so I can’t go crazy with it.
I’ll have a cup of strong coffee and a piece, or three, of my homemade banana cake with chocolate.
I am craving Chocolate HobNobs!
I ate too much during the Holidays, including “sampling” the home made candy I give away as gifts (just to make sure that the taste was right, of course) so I should eat a banana but give me some dark chocolate.
I’d have a latte or mocha, and some sort of homemade cookie (preferably chocolate, though oatmeal is also yummy and probably less hazardous to the books).
I would go with Earl Grey and scones! Yum!
Tea and my big, fluffy sheepdog.
Tea and cookies!
Coffee and breakfast tacos!
Definitely a glass of red wine
How about some jelly peachy candies and pamplemouse la croix fizzy water?
I tend to read with a frosty cold adult beverage: Crystal Light and Vodka. Usually the classic orange or the strawberry-banana flavor. Surprisingly tasty, and low-cal at the same time!
