The winners are:
- Rhyanna DeTuathana
- Heather R
- Robyn
Thank you to everyone who entered, and thank you to Carina Press for the very fun giveaway. Happy reading, everyone!
Does the dog count? When I read it is usually with the dog, black tea unsweetened and whatever snack is available, lately it’s been roasted pumpkin seeds.
Tea is always the perfect accompaniment to a good read. I picked up a really lovely Assam last week, so that. And maybe a scone. You got me with your scone moment.
I usually drink coffee when reading. Lately, I’ve been using chocolate chip cookie creamer, which sounds disgusting but surprisingly is not.
Black, black bitter tea and sweet, sweet halva. Mmmmmmmm…….
Some nice freshly-ground French press coffee!
Coffee and Digestives (the most addictive British cookie ever made) and then a full pot of peppermint tea (all about the beverages).
I usually drink tea when I read. Which is usually during my lunch hour at work.
I’d probably have some English Breakfast and buttered toast, but you make a convincing argument for scones.
I’m all about some tea with honey and a chocolate chip cookie when I’m reading. Although, I also don’t think a great reading session is complete without snuggling under a blanket with my cat, Neville, and my slippers.
Reading the comments is making me sooooo hungry, but I actually don’t like to eat or drink while I read because it slows me down. If I do, though, I like something salty like Goldfish to go along with a page-turner. I am much more a “devour” than a “savor” kind of person when it comes to books.
What a wonderful giveaway, many thanks to Carina Press! I just devoured (see?) Alyssa Cole’s Off the Grid series after hearing last Friday’s podcast, and immensely enjoyed the books as well as Angela James’s little letters beforehand.
Just a Diet Coke, thanks. And popcorn.
Mmm…popcorn…
Mmm, some fancy little macarons (I love the rosewater ones) – and tea, of course!
I love a cup of chai with a splash of cream and a Jaffa cake!
Depends on when I’m reading. During the afternoon, I’ll usually have a Dr. Pepper if it’s the weekend. At night, I’m likely to have some hot chocolate.
When reading I’m accompanied by one or both of my cats. As far as beverages and snacks goes, probably popcorn and some water or hot cocoa depended on the time of year.
Coffee or Pepsi depending on the time of day or night. Usually with a bag of Scotch Mints.
I am more of a savory person – so if I am snacking while I read, its usually with chips or cheese & crackers or something like that. And water or Diet Dr. Pepper.
Tea, absolutely. Hot and steamy in my favorite cup.
Something salty like popcorn is great when I’m reading.
I love to have some chocolate and chai when I am reading.
I have a thing about clean hands and touching any book, digital or paper. That said, if someone placed a bowl of potato chips and a glass of Dr. Pepper in front of me, they’d best step out of the way as I lunge for both.
This time of year it’s hot tea, most likely green tea and definitely unsweetened.
Lacroix water!
I’m usually reading in the evening, so it’s likely to be a glass of Irish whiskey or apple brandy. Probably no snack. I do read and knit at the same time, if I have my iPad handy and it’s an easy project. I’m working on a Sockhead hat, which is perfect knitting for being distracted.
One of the cats usually climbs into my lap. Cat + wine + good book = Heaven. 🙂 I live by myself, so I also read when I eat dinner or a late night snack (usually popcorn, but sometimes crackers and that addictive cheese in a can).
If it is cold, Celestial Seasonings’ blueberry tea. If it’s not, usually A&W Cream Soda and Lance hot ‘n spicy peanuts. 🙂
Since reading time only happens after the last tuck-in of small people….Scotch.
Tea and cookies!!!
When it gets warmer here, I would have a caramel cashew sundae from Culvers and curl up with the pups to read.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Tea and dried hibiscus flowers. Now I want some.
Just got a little espresso machine, so probably one of my attempts at a decent cappuccino
Lemon lift tea with lemon rosemary scones. Yummy! (taking a little scone moment myself)
Black tea with a touch of milk and sugar, and dark chocolate Milano cookies. My faves.
Cat, tea, and scones. Also chocolate.
Cinnamon chai tea…off to make some now.
Chocolate covered pretzels are my snack of choice! Yummy sweet and salty goodness!
Nice cup of tea and either homemade shortbread or an Aero Mint chocolate bar {or maybe both, if the book is really good and I read it in one sitting….}
I would have two things: tea and Hershey’s Kisses. Two of my favorite food groups.
A cup o’ tea and an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Bliss.
I’d treat myself with popcorn and a cherry coke. Maybe some Red Vines too.
