There’s also an entire behind-the-scenes post where the equipment and the experiments in the video are explained. As Stanford explains, cymatics is “the science of visualizing audio frequencies,” and the equipment they used is really freaking neat.

Very interesting– the video’s a bit deceptive though because if you read the behind the scenes post you find that though the effects are all created by sound, it’s not by the actual musical notes in the soundtrack!
