It’s here, it’s here! Commence bosom-heaving, because our book, Beyond Heaving Bosoms is officially launched today – even though folks who ordered it online have already received it, and a few people have found it in various locations in their local bookstore. I’ve got sighting pictures and posed images of the book here, there, and everywhere, but more than that, I have serious ants in my pants. I didn’t think 14 April would ever get here. (I am guessing a few accountants have had this thought, too).
If you’re thinking about buying the book, here’s a special gift from the nice people at Books on Board.
As part of their Daily Steal campaign. from April 14 11am EST/10am CST to April 15 11am EST/10am CST, Beyond Heaving Bosoms is 25% off at Books on Board. WOOT! 25% off the Bosoms? Plastic surgeons charge a LOT for that.
Plus, they’re giving a 20% list price coupon to all the titles they have in stock by the following authors, all of whom are mentioned in the Bosoms: Stephanie Laurens, JD Robb/ Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux, Kelley Armstrong, and Patricia Briggs.
Just use promo code “SmartOnBoard” to achieve your savings, and perhaps set your digital bosoms a-heaving. You can find out more at the Books on Board daily steals page.
I have heard of other giveaways here, there, and everywhere, and I’ll be posting them here or on the Twitter.
And finally, heads up Canada! If you’re around, tune into the Steven & Chris Show on the CBC, where you’ll see me talking romance, heroes, heroines, and making the poor gentleman blush at the end. Some folks in the US are lucky enough to get the CBC in the US, but for those in the Great White North, it’ll be on at 2 PM/2:30 in Newfoundland. The video will be online today, sometime after 5 PM EST.
Happy Heaving Bosoms Day, folks!
My bosoms are heaving with excitement, the book just arrived in the mail! Yay for http://www.bookdepository.co.uk! (And if it wasn’t for Easter, the book would have arrived on Friday. *mumble, grumble* Oh well, I can’t complain about a four-day weekend, can I?) Now I need to turn off my phone, shut off the computer and ignore the world while I read. I think I’ll forego snacks and beverages—wouldn’t want to choke or spray the room (or worse yet, the book!) with stuff! LOL.
Congratulations Candy and Sarah, enjoy your big day!
Oh, and I need to charge the battery for my camera and go on the hunt for interesting pictures! After I’m done reading, of course.
Congratulations!!! A red letter day to be sure. I’ll have to mosey down to my local Borders and see if bosoms are heaving.
(ooh, the magic word is money76…perhaps foreshadowing great success in sales?)
I read it Saturday evening and posted my reviewette at LibraryThing. Loved it!
Just checked my local b&n for availability and they have it! Definitely going to pick it up after I leave work!
I downloaded mine last night from Sony! 😀 Can’t wait to read it!
Promo code “SmartOnBoard”? I would have gone for “BitchesOnBoard”!
Happy Bosoms Day! I can’t wait to get my copy. (Though I *will* be waiting… stupid idea to order with another book not yet released, ‘cause now I have to wait for Lovher Ahvehngehd Day to get my Heaving Bosoms!)
Congratulations! I’m sure the book will be a huge, heaving success. (Won’t get mine till the 28th, alas, as I ordered with a bunch of other stuff to save on shipping.)

Get on a plane and do 62 book signings!
I had already purchased it at BooksonBoard and love it. I downloaded it as soon as possible after the link was activated. I even reviewed it. Here’s what I had to say.
“The Smart Bitches know romance. They know the good, the bad, the great, the truly horrid, and everything in between. The book never takes itself too seriously, just like the authors. A realistic guide to the world of the romance novel, this is a must read for romance lovers, anybody who is curious about romance novels, or anybody who is just wondering what all the fuss is about. Make sure you check out the Smart Bitch website. You’ll be glad you did.”
You may pay me whenever. J/k!
Karmyn: How about I put it on our review page?
Here you go!
Congrats on your first release! May many others follow. May they entertain and make you rich!
Thanks Sarah.
I got mine a couple of days ago, and have read it every spare second. I have laughed long and hard! You ladies are the best!
Yay for national bosom-heaving day and the release of your kick ass book! You ladies make your blog and romance readers everywhere very proud!
Congrats! Can’t wait to see you with the boys on the CBC today.
I ordered mine from Amazon before Amazonfail. It should get here any hour now. *tapping foot impatiently* Thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter on the Simon & Schuster site, and the flow chart on the NPR site. Especially liked: “Are you reading Ted Bundy’s biography? ==> NOT A ROMANCE.” Congratulations Bitches!
And the interview with Sarah is on my blog at:

I LOVED the book!
I loved Dwayne. Getting my copy today! Happy Heaving Bosoms Day! Wish we could get off work for this.
My local Borders (where I used to work) didn’t have it on their computer as being ordered for the store, but one of the managers ordered it. Cause I asked them too! LOL If I was still there it would have been ordered a long time ago, and shelved where you could see it!
I am considering returning mine to Amazon and re-ordering it on BOB!!!
Went to Borders on Sunday—after having ordered a copy—and they. wouldn’t. even. show it to me!!! let alone sell it. :sigh: Heading back that way this afternoon.
Congratulations! It will surely be another heaving success 😀
Woo hoo! Happy release day, ladies. 🙂
Happy Bosoms Day to you, too!
Already read my copy and gave it a place of honor on my bookshelves. Even got my husband interested when he wanted to know what was causing paroxysms of laughter – he enjoyed my reading of the section on appropriate occupations of heroes.
Happy Bosoms Day! May it be perky!
I am very excited. I got my kindle copy this morning when I turned on my whispernet. Can’t wait until this weekend so I can go out and find a copy in my B&N as well!!
I don’t even want to work right now, I just want to read!!!
Congrats Ladies, you deserve it.
Congrats on the book release! And my DVR is set to record Steven and Chris. Those guys work out in my gym and Chris is always flipping his hair. Well, he has fairly short hair… but does the head action as if he was flipping long hair. Cracks me up.
Thanks again for visiting us on drunk writer talk yesterday!
Maureen: That’s Chris’ Cher impression. 😉
Happy Bosoms Day! I’ll be ordering for my trip reading ASAP!
Woo hoo! I just finished watching Sarah on Steven and Chris and it was fabulous. What a wonderfully articulate, well-read, intelligent woman. She was so engaging and it was obvious that Chris enjoyed every minute of the interview. Thanks for such a strong promotion of the romance genre, letting women know that it’s okay to read, and write, romance novels.
I hope everyone gets a chance to see the interview. Some of it is just so funny. I nearly wet my pants when she talked about the hero’s role and how it has changed. Can’t wait to read the book. Sarah, or perhaps the publisher, generously gave everyone in the studio audience a copy of the book. Bravo! I was so jealous.
Kaenar
I’ve been tracking the sales rank of BHB on that retailer that shall not be named, and after the NPR broadcast, the ranking hit #472 overall! I don’t know how that translates in terms of general sales nation and worldwide, but I hope it’s an utter crapload of books!
Congratulations and Happy Heaving Bosoms day!
Thanks to a head cold, I was flipping channels and caught Sarah Wendell on the Steven and Chris Show. What a blast! Chris was so enjoying himself as were half the closet romance readers in the audience.
Can’t wait to get my copy on Amazon.
CONGRATS!!! I can’t wait to pick mine up from work tonight as a bday present to myself. Not to mention facing them all out on their shelves. lol
LOL. I just sat down and watched your interview. It was hillarious. Good job on causing blushes! (:
Hooray for Bosoms! I just picked up my copy from the store and I’m really looking forward to reading it, especially after listening to the NPR interview. Even my husband (who was in the room at the time) said that it was a pity they didn’t let you talk for longer.
I’ve only read the introduction so far, but already there has been a coffee-spewed-on-Kindle near miss. I can’t wait to get home and read the rest. Happy Heaving Bosom Day!
I just happened to take the day off today, and just watched the Stephen & Chris piece. ADORABLE! Both of you.
Now, given that I’m visibly home today, why the Postie left me a parcel pickup notice instead of my damned book! That I now cannot pick up until after 6:00! GRRRRRR And therefore cannot read for the majority of my day off! Grrrrrrrrrr.
Loved the pink jacket.
Chapters hasn’t sent mine out yet, so the postie is being looked for. At least he can leave it in the supermailbox.
Suze: he rang your bell, you just didn’t hear it. Well that’s what they always tell me at the post office…
Congrats and happy bosoms day!!!
(just finished reading my copy)
I got it, read it, and reviewed it—all through “the retailer that shall not be named” (good one, Robin!) before the kafuffle. I canceled the other order I had pending, and will have to go buy those books elsewhere. So far I can report no bookstore sightings in Wine Country, but I’m having fun looking for it and asking clerks where I might find it—I printed out the info page, which I present helplessly at each store and ask, “where would you suggest I look for this book?” Borders says it would be in Romance “with similar titles” IF they had it, but they don’t, just available to order. The B&N in downtown Santa Rosa says they have it, though, so I’m heading that way this afternoon, camera phone in hand!
Loved the piece on Steven and Chris, that was so fun. 🙂
For those of us that have no chance of seeing the interview on tv, is it online somewhere? I’d really love to see it!
Congrats Bitches!
I just finished reading my e-copy and it was great! Loved the pictures and the chose your own story part. DH is looking forward to reading it when he gets home in a few.
