Books on Sale: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert & More

RECOMMENDED: The Marriage Contract by Katee Robert is $2.99! This is an arranged marriage plot in a modern setting and Elyse is addicted to this series The book does deal with characters in the mob, which I know is a big off-button for some readers, so FYI. Elyse’s reviewed this one and she gave it an A:

If you had told me that I’d really love a book about the children of two Boston mob bosses being in an arranged marriage, I’d have raised a skeptical eyebrow. But I’m so so glad that The Marriage Contract proved me wrong because I enjoyed it immensely.

Books on Sale: The Problem with Forever by Jennifer Armentrout & More

RITA READER RECOMMENDED: The Problem with Forever by Jennifer Armentrout is $2.99! This was nominated for a RITA last year and Reviewer Coco gave it an A-

I hadn’t read the book—as YA isn’t normally my happy place within the romance genre, despite the odd fact that I reviewed another YA RITA earlier this year—but I thought it’d be fun, and then life happened, and it didn’t go quite according to plan. Instead of a leisurely full seven days to read and write a simple review, I, of course, didn’t get the time to do it until two days ago. Luckily, reading it quickly wasn’t a problem as I was drawn into the story by the midpoint and raced to finish it.

Books on Sale: Vicious by V. E. Schwab & More

RECOMMENDED: Vicious by V.E. Schwab is $2.99! Though I have not read this, several of my friends (four to be exact, two of whom have rated it five starts on Goodreads) have and absolutely loved it. With rivalries, super powers, and experiments gone wrong, I’ve heard Vicious compared to being a literary comic book. It has a 4.2-star rating on Goodreads.

Books on Sale: The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery & More

READER RECOMMENDED: The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery is $2.99 at Amazon! This contemporary romance was previously nominated for a RITA® in the Long Contemporary category and is a Beauty & the Beast retelling. During the RITA® Reader Challenge, Reader Erica gave the book a B:

I really did enjoy the hell out of this book. I really did. I loved Asher. I liked Savannah, I felt like she and I would be buddies. I was rooting for them together and I fully believe in this happily-ever-after (*cough* even though it happens too quickly *cough*), and I’m sure out there in this fictional world, they are together and doing good things. This was not a magic hoo-ha cures your PTSD story, and for that I am grateful.

RITA Reader Challenge Review

The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Problem with Forever

I picked up this last-minute review of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s The Problem with Forever last week because I felt like doing one more of these RITA reviews when the opportunity came, but, well, it was a push to get it done and written before the deadline! I hadn’t read the book—as YA isn’t normally my happy place within the romance genre, despite the odd fact that I reviewed another YA RITA earlier this year—but I … Continue reading The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Books on Sale: The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen & More

The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen is $2.99! This is the first book in The Ivy Years series and was brought to our attention by reader Cat, who did some serious squeeing over this book:

As I commented on Sarina Bowen’s Facebook post about the sale, I devoured-yet-savored this like I would cheesecake. I whipped through this thing on a Saturday night because it was so engrossing but at the same time I just marveled at it, like, “How is this book so good?” Bowen does a great job of portraying disability in romance, and just likeComing in from the Cold she took a plot angle that makes the whole romance genre seem fresh again–I mean, I love the concept of genre and its constrictions and its tropes (I swear having a guaranteed happy ending is my favorite thing about romance, too many nasty shocks from mysteries and then of course fantasy…I’m a bit of a genre geek) but I love when authors can play with those tropes (cough Courtney Milan cough) or create something fresh and exciting even within various constraints.

Anyone interested? I know I am.
