We talk about the evolution of fat characters in romance, what’s changing, and then Shana shares the romances that made her a romance reader – and the books that rock her world.

    i really like that the interviewee acknowleded the lack of body diversity in fat representation. i commented about this before a few months ago in another article, that it’s hard not seeing yourself in fat representation that’s supposed to geared towards you bc it’s flooded with “acceptable small fats” & are hourglass/pearshap-ed, & how the hero always loves all the “curves”. And as an apple-shaped large fat with just 1 round curve (which is the bottom of the “fat heirarchy” sort of speak) it can be very depressing. also, like the discussion of how this intersects with other -isms as well.
