Strange Practice
Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal, so snap it up while you can. Readers love the heroine, who is described a “fast-talking doctor to the undead.”
Meet Greta Helsing, fast-talking doctor to the undead. Keeping the supernatural community not-alive and well in London has been her family’s specialty for generations.
Greta Helsing inherited the family’s highly specialized, and highly peculiar, medical practice. In her consulting rooms, Dr. Helsing treats the undead for a host of ills – vocal strain in banshees, arthritis in barrow-wights, and entropy in mummies. Although barely making ends meet, this is just the quiet, supernatural-adjacent life Greta’s been groomed for since childhood.
Until a sect of murderous monks emerges, killing human and undead Londoners alike. As terror takes hold of the city, Greta must use her unusual skills to stop the cult if she hopes to save her practice, and her life.

Hang the Moon
RECOMMENDED: Hang the Moon by Alexandria Bellefleur is $1.99! Tara read this one and gave it an A-:
This book is important for women like me, showing that we can absolutely have our HEA with a man and still proudly claim our queerness. Plus, it’s such a joyful celebration of love that it’s like a warm hug. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will read it again.
In a delightful follow-up to Written in the Stars, Alexandria Bellefleur delivers another #ownvoices queer rom-com about a hopeless romantic who vows to show his childhood crush that romance isn’t dead by recreating iconic dates from his favorite films…
Brendon Lowell loves love. It’s why he created a dating app to help people find their one true pairing and why he’s convinced “the one” is out there, even if he hasn’t met her yet. Or… has he? When his sister’s best friend turns up in Seattle unexpectedly, Brendon jumps at the chance to hang out with her. He’s crushed on Annie since they were kids, and the stars have finally aligned, putting them in the same city at the same time.
Annie booked a spur-of-the-moment trip to Seattle to spend time with friends before moving across the globe. She’s not looking for love, especially with her best friend’s brother. Annie remembers Brendon as a sweet, dorky kid. Except, the 6-foot-4 man who shows up at her door is a certified Hot Nerd and Annie… wants him? Oh yes.
Getting involved would be a terrible idea—her stay is temporary and he wants forever—but when Brendon learns Annie has given up on dating, he’s determined to prove that romance is real. Taking cues from his favorite rom-coms, Brendon plans to woo her with elaborate dates straight out of Nora Ephron’s playbook. The clock is ticking on Annie’s time in Seattle, and Brendon’s starting to realize romance isn’t just flowers and chocolate. But maybe real love doesn’t need to be as perfect as the movies… as long as you think your partner hung the moon.

Daughter of the Moon Goddess
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan is $1.99! This is an adult fantasy debut that I mentioned on a previous Get Rec’d post. The continuation of this duology is also out, so have it queued up.
A captivating debut fantasy inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess, in which a young woman’s quest to free her mother pits her against the most powerful immortal in the realm.
Growing up on the moon, Xingyin is accustomed to solitude, unaware that she is being hidden from the feared Celestial Emperor who exiled her mother for stealing his elixir of immortality. But when Xingyin’s magic flares and her existence is discovered, she is forced to flee her home, leaving her mother behind.
Alone, powerless, and afraid, she makes her way to the Celestial Kingdom, a land of wonder and secrets. Disguising her identity, she seizes an opportunity to learn alongside the emperor’s son, mastering archery and magic, even as passion flames between her and the prince.
To save her mother, Xingyin embarks on a perilous quest, confronting legendary creatures and vicious enemies across the earth and skies. But when treachery looms and forbidden magic threatens the kingdom, she must challenge the ruthless Celestial Emperor for her dream—striking a dangerous bargain in which she is torn between losing all she loves or plunging the realm into chaos.
Daughter of the Moon Goddess begins an enchanting, romantic duology which weaves ancient Chinese mythology into a sweeping adventure of immortals and magic—where love vies with honor, dreams are fraught with betrayal, and hope emerges triumphant.

The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen
The Particular Charm of Miss Jane Austen by Ada Bright and Cass Grafton is $1.99! This may appeal to some Austen lovers out there. The heroine suspects her neighbor is a time traveling Jane Austen.
When a time traveling Jane Austen gets stuck in modern-day England, it’s up to an avid fan to save her in this charmingly funny fantasy novel.
As a Jane Austen superfan, Rose Wallace can’t wait for Bath’s annual Austen festival, especially when this year’s VIP is the dishy archaeologist Dr. Aiden Trevellyan! But could there be another VIP in town already?
When Rose first sees her building’s newest resident, she can’t deny the mysterious woman’s striking resemblance to her favorite author. And when she realizes that her neighbor is indeed the Jane Austen, Rose’s wildest dreams come true—and her world turns upside down.
Jane’s time traveling adventure has been sabotaged by a mischievous dog, trapping her in the twenty-first century. And only Rose seems to have noticed. Now she will have to do whatever it takes to help Jane get back home—or else her favorite novels will never be written!

Amazon buy links (in linked review as well as in the post that came up when I searched site) for “Season for Scandal” aren’t working 🙁
@Liz: Upon some research, it appears Season for Scandal has been renamed to The Baron’s Marriage Gamble.
Two books that I’ve enjoyed by Marie Sexton are currently free to US Kindle readers ~
Winter Oranges
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B541997J
and
Trailer Trash
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YYJL48B
Theresa Romain has always been reliable for me, although I think she’s often overlooked. THE EARL’S HOLIDAY WAGER was fluffy and charming and would definitely recommend. SEASON FOR SCANDAL had some “OMG, please use your words!!!” issues but was also enjoyable.
@kareni – I think Trailer Trash is Marie Sexton’s best book! Definitely recommend it for anyone who hasn’t read it.
I’m a bi woman (in an m/f relationship) and I really wanted to like Hang the Moon, but I ended up DNFing about halfway through.
Something about the set up of Brendon trying to prove to Annie that romance is real (while not being honest with himself about his motives) really annoyed me. And I didn’t connect to the characters enough to get over that.
YMMV.
