Welcome back to Wednesday Links, lovelies! I feel like it’s been longer than a week since last time. Big thank you to everyone for their travel suggestions. I have a phone call scheduled with my brother for Sunday to talk details. He also mentioned doing a long weekend in the Alps. He’s sent me photos before and wow, does it look gorgeous.
If you’ve been following along on the podcast, I’m trying to give myself a thing to look forward to each month. This month, I’m finishing my Black Phillip/The Witch tattoo! The line work was done in October; now we’re on to color. I don’t know what my artist has planned, but considering they nailed the design on the first try, I’m super confident in the palette they have selected. I’m scheduled for a 5-hour session next Tuesday, the longest one I’ve done! Gotta make sure I pack some snacks.
Do you all have anything exciting this month for yourself?

If you didn’t see the news, Sarah and Alisha Rai have launched a daily podcast through Frolic with iHeartMedia called Lovestruck Daily. It drops next week, February 7th! I’m so excited for them and I’ve gotten some behind the scenes peeks. I think you all will love it.

The Romancing the Vote auction is back! The auction starts Monday, February 14th. You can start browsing the auctions now and more seem to be added each time I check. I’ve already gone through and favorite the ones I’m interested in bidding for.

Our amazing reviewer Shana is over at Autostraddle teaching us the art of seduction through tiramisu. I am not ashamed to say that this would 100% work on me. We hope to see more amazing stuff like this from Shana on Autostraddle!

I will never tire of Encanto content. Here is a “bardcore” cover of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” I loved the different instruments they selected for the different parts.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
My son sent me this link: https://duandigames.com/our-games/cats-organized-neatly.html I bought it on Steam for $2. Cute little time killer. They have another puzzle featuring dogs.
Tiramisu is delicious, assuming you understand the recipe. Years ago, there was an article in the food section of the local newspaper. The writer had heard co-workers rhapsodizing about tiramisu so, when she found a recipe, made it. She thought it looked kind of odd, and lumpy, but she had never seen or tasted it, so forged ahead. After the appropriate time in the refrigerator, she offered a piece to her mother who said maybe later. She offered some to her father who took one look and adamantly refused. She went into work and asked her co-workers about it and they were appalled. Seemingly, the woman came from a place where “ladyfingers” were what they called okra so that’s what she used to make her tiramisu. I don’t remember if she ever tried again with what we would usually consider ladyfingers.
Another travel rec if you’re going to the Alps: try to fit in Neuschwanstein Castle. It’s a tourist hot spot, but so worth it.
@Todd: You taught me something new. My family ate okra pretty regularly when I was growing up, but I never heard it referred to as Lady/ladies’ fingers! That was always used to reference those little cake thingies, so I had to look it up. Ugh. What a mix-up.
One of my daughters and I made tiramisu for Thanksgiving dessert last year. Our from-scratch ladyfingers we’re not the loveliest thing aesthetically, but we figured that once they were dipped in espresso and then covered with mascarpone and whipped cream, it would make that much difference—and we were right. Delicious!
Tiramisu with okra reminds me of Rachel trying to make a trifle with beef on Friends.
A friend directed my attention to this and it’s WONDERFUL!
Yay, Romancing the Vote is back! I would love to say insightful praise and encouragement but … y’all:

Y’ALL. My brain wants only to make grabby hands.
Check out these phenomenal cookies:

They’re so pretty I don’t think I could eat them – but the flavors sound fabulous!
Sue, that was BRILLIANT!
EC, I have an old college friend who makes cookies that are gorgeous works of art. Fortunately, she’s in Australia and I’m in the US, so I’ve never had to refuse to eat that.
And okra ladyfingers tiramisu is so horrifying it should be a saying about shockingly wrong things: “That’s like making tiramisu with okra!”
@EC Spurlock, thank you for sharing the link. That is a talented young woman!
