Gift Guide 2023: Shirts, Candles, and More!

I’m having such a great time shopping in different places for the gift guides this year. If you have suggestions, please feel free to email me or leave them in the comments. The spam filter gets tetchy about links but Amanda and I both monitor the comments, so if you don’t see yours, it’ll arrive once we reassure the spam filter that all is well.

NB: some of these links are affiliate-coded, which means a portion of your purchase comes back to us at no extra cost. Our affiliate sales are one of the revenue streams that keep the hot pink lights on in the hot pink palace, so shopping through our links is much appreciated! And special massive thanks to Opal and June for sponsoring some of the featured links in this gift guide!

Since today is Cyber Monday, I’m posting the gift guide early, as there may be COUPONS YES TASTY COUPONS. So some rates may be higher after midnight tonight, November 27.

For the past few years, Adam and I have gifted each other one major item for Hanukkah (usually on the first night) and then for the other 7 nights, we alternate giving each other fun tshirts and telling each other bad jokes.

Why, yes, I do have a bottomless store of bad jokes. But fun and funny t-shirts can be a LOT of fun to pick out. And t-shirts (or sweatshirts or whatever) that proclaim your favorite reading material are extremely fun!

A pink shirt with black illustration of a book open against a field of other books, and the words I WILL NOT BE CLOSING MY ROMANCE BOOK TODAYI will NOT be Closing my Romance Book Today shirt $29 – $22 until 11/28

A butter yellow tshirt on a mannequin with a watercolor style illustration of some books, a cup of tea, a bust and some flowers in lilac and pink, with the words All the Cool Girls Read RomanceAll the Cool Girls Read Romance, $29, $23 until 11/28

There are also a WONDERFUL number of “Probably reading” items in this shop, including:

A purple shirt with "it's not gossip if it's history" and a line drawing of two women in historical dress chatting away It’s Not Gossip, It’s History t-shirt, $28, or $23 until 11/28

There are also some adorable candles, but I’m going to limit my showcase to two because I want to set this up to post today before the sales expire!

A jar candle with an illustration of a small angel with blue hair and text that reads praying for universal health carePraying for Universal Healthcare candle, $19, or $15 until 11/28

I might need a few of those. And then there’s this one, which is perfect for so many people I know:

I don’t want to miss sharing a few Cyber Monday (IT’S SO CUTE, literally the most adorable use of the word ‘cyber’) deals on things we’ve loved and recommended and bought!

Need a new eReader? It’s a good day for that.

The Kobo eReaders are discounted, including refurbished models like the Kobo Nia for $90.

The Kobo Nia, their base model eReader

Amazon has some Cyber Monday (SO CUTE SRSLY) deals on Kindles, including 28% off the Oasis (my review – still very expensive, but great for lazy rivers) and 20% off the Kindle.

A row of Kindles on Sale for $80-$280 including the Scribe, the Oasis, the Paperwhite, and the Kindle basic

And so many of you have been shopping the heckin’ great Libro.fm audiobook sale

https://woodlandherbal.com/ – This company does have an etsy store, but their store was taken down with no notice then reinstated earlier this year so I prefer to shop off their main site. I have some chronic pain issues, and their Relief Rub and Brain Tension Salve are GLORIOUS.

Not on sale, but I hope these are ok anyway.

My favorite candle/soap company, with my all-time favorite candle – A Candle for Zero F**ks Given. Smells sweet, but not overpoweringly so, long burning time, not smoky. They have a lot of other fantastically named/scented options. https://www.whiskeyriversoap.com/products/a-candle-for-zero-fucks
