The Gift Guides officially start on Wednesday, but I wanted to post this ASAP so – quick and early gift guide!
NB: some links in this and future gift guides include affiliate links which send a portion of your purchase back to us at no extra cost to you. You’re not required to use our links, and thank you in advance if you do.
There is a gift with purchase from now until 11/11 at Lego.com, and y’all.
Y’ALL.
It’s called Books are My Passion.
Look at this.
Books are my Passion, free with $130 purchase until then!
Books Are My Passion is a 285 piece Lego set that’s a free gift with purchase of $130 or more until 11/11. After that, it’ll be $20 or so, I believe.
Important update: per many wise folks in the comments, gift with purchase Legos aren’t sold by Lego after the final date. They’re available through resellers only. So this is likely the only time to get this set from Lego.com. Thank you for that info!
Seriously.
On the Ladder?!
And look – the book on the chair, with turnable pages, starts with “Once upon a time.”
Clearly that is a set for romance readers! (Also, I had that haircut for probably half my life so that’s kind of alarming.)
Now, maybe you need some suggestions to hit that $130 threshold.
How about…
Typewriter Lego Set, 2049 pieces, $249.99
The Typewriter is retiring soon, per the website, and will be difficult to find after that.
There is also the kits in the Botanical collection, which range from $15 to $100, and would make lovely gifts.
And the Art collection has terrific kits, like this image of the Milky Way:
The Milky Way Galaxy, 3091 pieces, $199.99
Then I saw this one, and I said, out loud, “Oh my GOSH.”
Pac-Man Arcade, 2651 pieces, $269.99
This is under the $130 threshold, but you could combine it with some flowers:
LEGO Fender Stratocaster Guitar, 1074 pieces, $119.99
And this is just adorable: Van Gogh painting Starry Night:
Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night, 2316 pieces, $169.99
That’s so cool, like he’s painting the original scene.
I am waiting to put my Books Are My Passion set together, but once I do, I’ll definitely share pics.
Do you have Lego folks on your gift list this year? Are you a Lego aficionado? What sets are your favorites?
Yep, haircut and glasses, that could be me there. I am particularly enamoured of the tea cup, and the stuff stacked on top of the shelf (also me there). I’m going to assume the books are double-stacked on the shelves, and there is a cat sleeping somewhere.
Oh, these are so cute!
Or. My. God. Does buying six get me a free one, because I’d be done with a lot of Christmas shopping in one go?
@DonnaMarie that is a great idea, holy cow.
As an adult with a Lego problem, I thank you for featuring this, and can recommend the Starry Night set, the wildflower botanical sets, the working lighthouse set, and the Eiffel Tower set (provided you have space for it).
I got my mom a Lego orchid this year. I’m going with hobby gifts this Christmas (puzzles for Dad and one brother etc.,). The little reading one is cute.
I have a Lego problem. I really, really want this set, but as far as I can tell, it’s only going to be available as a free gift. (I got the Christmas Carol free gift a few years ago and it’s one of my favourite things!). Now I need to think of what I can buy to make a qualifying purchase.
The Lego bookshop would have been ideal, but I already have that!
The Never Witch’s Midnight Raven was my birthday present, total Baba Yaga vibes: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-never-witch-s-midnight-raven-71478
Dang it! I got too excited and missed the part where this thing would be for sale on its own after a bit. So now I have bought my niblings a ton of legos! On the bright side, most of my Xmas shopping is now done.
Oh my word. I am completely enamored… Christmas shopping means presents for me, right? LOL!
Lego Gift with Purchases don’t go on sale separately. But people will sell them on Bricklink or eBay. Not that I’ve ever fed my Lego problem that way. No, of course not.
I don’t know how to tell this story without lineage notes. My son lives overseas so when it’s my grandgoblin’s birthday (his niece) he orders a gift to be sent. This year he sent her the Raven & Witch (“totally not Baba Yaga even though she has a hut with chicken feet, no this has nothing to do with turning down that guy’s suggestion in the new ideas contest a few years ago”) but it’s really just as much a present for her mother (my daughter) because grandgoblin is 7 & she’s goingvto need help!
FYI — Even though there is a price listed for the Books are my Passion Lego set, gift with purchase sets are never sold by Lego after the fact. Any found online are from third party sellers.
The only way to get this set is either through the Gift with Purchase offer or to buy it from a third party.
I picked up a Christmas gift for someone and some holiday Lego sets to decorate around the house. The botanical line has a nice wreath and poinsettia.
Christmas gift shopping has begun! Including something for myself. Thanks for sharing this.
It only seems to be available as a gift with purchase in the US 🙁
So I did it! I ordered a Great Pyramid for The Boy (who is now 35 and has gotten LEGO for Christmas every year since he was a preschooler) and the free gift for me.
This post was dangerous to my wallet but also I now have the Villain Icons set (https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/villain-icons-43227) on the way so it is what it is. For anyone who cares the Villain set (which includes a Beauty and the Beast book) appears to round up to their minimum to qualify for the Books Are My Passion set, because it got added to my cart even before I tossed in a small storage skull that I can stick the extra pieces in.
