Clippy Bookmarks Improve Headless Men

I can’t tell you how tempting it was to get all Upworthy with the title and make it stupidly clickbait, like You won’t believe how clip bookmarks have done to this hero!
Or Elyse wanted to save her place, but what happened next will make you spew your tea!

But I didn’t. Because the best part about the clip bookmarks on headless suspense covers is that they kind of speak for themselves.
A blue butterfly over the hero's head gives him a butterfly head.

Forget nearly being shot in the Personal Target – this guy has problems. Butterfly! Eating his face! Oh noes! (Anyone with a butterfly phobia just screamed. I’m sorry.)

Sarah: I bet he HATES his nickname.

An owl on top of a dude's face - it's very silly

Elyse: “Owl be watching over you.”

Sarah: “Who?”

Owl with glasses - much improvement over missing hero face

Elyse: Do not fuck with nerd owl.

Sarah:  Damn right.

Elyse: I love this because the dog is all, ‘I CAN HAZ CUPCAKE?’

Sarah: If the guys all had kittens for heads, I might read more romantic suspense. Guns, biceps, abs, and KITTENS!

If you’ve got a clip bookmark that improves a cover and want to share, please do!

Ah! I have the blue cupcake and the owls! Blue cupcake marked my place in three different translations of Beowulf. I’m so fond of it.

  8. Carrie says:

The cupcake makes the photoshopped tattoo so much less weird.

  9. Kswan says:

I don’t get it. Wot? Wot? Silly buggers…

  10. Shannon says:

I will never look at a headless man (or woman) on a book cover the same again.

  11. Lena says:

Is it bad that i now want to read Irresisible Force just because there is a dog on the cover? I feel like I’m ten years old again.
Clippy bookmarks are the best though!

I can’t believe I almost missed this post. I can’t believe that I didn’t know about clippy bookmarks either. I mostly read digital now and before that I used fabric swatches left over from misc arts and craft projects as bookmarks. I took great, great joy in matching the color of the swatch to the book cover – so I’m glad to see someone else carefully choosing the right bookmark for the right book.

And can I just say, I’d read a romance with a kitten shifter hero.
